Trying to beat the summer gaming lull.....

Been absent a bit this week and it's mainly due to the heat. It puts me in a funky, not foul, sort of mood. It was 110 degrees yesterday and approaching that today. But when I got home yesterday my son said "Let's go to Gamestop!" and I was onboard....what the hell, right? Turned out pretty decent. We picked up Fuse for 360 at 30 bucks, and that was new. Also bought Midway Arcade Origins for 17 on PS3. Renewed my Power Up card so I can get the digital copies of Game Informer. I always get kinda weird/stressed out the week before vacation. Going to see my sister in Nashville next week on Wednesday morning. Should be a lot of fun. Tennessee is a beautiful state,if you've never been there. Lots of fun things to do and see there. Plan to take the Vita and 3DS with me for some road gaming perhaps. And late night, too. I'll be fine the moment we hit the road...but right now I'm kind of cranky. Hope your summer is going well so far. I'm going to be around to see what you're up to this week.

What I'm listening to today.......need something soothing.......

Must be awesome to have a son that appreciates the same hobby. Fuse looked intriguing for a 3rd person shooter. Tell me later how it pans out,Celt!

It's pretty good. Some would call it just another generic shooter, but it has great visual style. Also, you can change characters on the fly. You level up all 4 as you progress. Do a lot of mech fighting. But the weapons are incredible and fun to use.

I can't wait for my son to ask me if we could go to GameStop. Hopefully he'll start speaking soon!

My son has been a gamer since he could hold a controller. It's something we do together daily, which is pretty cool.

My 11-month-old son has already figured out how to turn on the Xbox using the controller. He's a little stinker Smile

Just think how easy it will be with the XBOX One. The voice commands make it simple!

F.U.S.E. is 30 bucks already?! Too bad for Insomniac. I guess the game isn't doing well.

I'm kinda glad for the lull because I have so many games to get to even from earlier this year.

Yeah,I suppose I'm lucky to have some big games sitting in my backlog at present. Like Halo 4 and Assassin's Creed 3.

i keep yearning for Far Cry 3, X-Com: EU, Borderlands 2, and Assassin's Creed 3. Oh yea, I gotta finish Halo 4 as well.

I like getting weird. We should do it together sometime. You can keep the stress, though. I kid, I kid.

Speaking of kids, not sure where mine is, but I hope the lesbians raising him like playing video games. If not, I still have the hundred bucks.

Summer gaming lull?!?  I'm busy playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Project X-Zone, and reviewing some other games, too!

I'm sure I will snap out of it soon. Especially with my renewed interest in retro games. I'm even thinking of getting a Game Boy. It would be fun to play all those great games again.

Dont feel alone i have been biilding decks in the 104 heat and getting up at 5:30 to 2:30 daily.

Nice work on those decks. Hey,anyone who does work outside in this heat has my respect. I just have to get my x-ray machine from the van into the nursing homes. Even hotter in some of the residents rooms, though. Ramps like that one make my job a lot easier when I have to go in private homes.

ADA compliant and by code pain in my butt but a necessity.

Nice decks, Lee! Is it dry or humid heat where you are?

Agh! The heat, the humid, humid heat!!! It's been very wet here so far this year. When the temperature is tolerable, it's because it's pouring rain, and when the rain stops, the heat starts, but it's still muggy as all get out. We've got buildings that were painted a month ago that the paint still hasn't cured on.

I hear you about gaming lulls. Mine usually hits me in the early spring. I'm happily over it and still having a blast with Tomb Raider. I'm at the part where's Lara's gone to look for Alex, and I can't wait until I have the time to get back to it.

Is that midway game any good? i'm still focused on finding the rest of the midway complications for my Xbox before I move on to the current gen systems. have fun on your vacation. Mines almost done and I've enjoyed every minute of it. Plus I have my "dungeon" to hide from the heat.
