This is not Mortal Kombat, this is Injustice!
A while back I said that I got Injustice: Gods Among Us for the PS3 but I never said anything on it afterwards. I can atleast say that it is awesome, I think this might be my favorite game of the year for my PS3. Sure alot of people might have a problem with the roster because it either has too many Batman characters or they could of done a better job. Or the Martian Manhunter should of been a playable character problem. But you're wondering, how are they ever going to add Martian Manhunter or anyone else for the game? Well glad you asked! They can do it via DLC. Yes I'm sure some of you are either with or against dlc, sure some dlc sucks but there is alot of dlc that gives you bang for your buck.
NetherRealm already released all the Season 1 pass characters and I don't have them yet. But after that, that's it? I mean I really like this game, it was a surprise to me like Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed was so I wanna see the game get dlc support for a while. But the question is, who will they add next? They did say they are planning to announce a 5th character this weekend, so I hope this mystery fighter is worth that wait. But what does that have to do with me? This is where this blog comes in, there are some characters that I want in the game as playable fighters, some might make sense and some might be odd choices. Well here is my wishlist of characters that I want as dlc for Injustice:
People are complaining that there are too many Batman characters in the game, and while I like Batman alot, I agree that there are too many Batman characters, heroes or otherwise. But 1 more couldn't hurt (and I didn't know who else to put). I only know about Red Hood because of the animated movie called Under the Red Hood and it's really good. For those who haven't seen it, I wont spoil who he is but he could be a really cool character to have, heck he can give Deathstroke a run for his money.
Black Manta
Black Manta is an obvious choice because Aquaman needs a villain to fight in the game. Batman has the Joker, and Super Man has Lex and Doomsday, and Zod. But what about the guy who's powers are useless in the land? Black Manta could be a great addition to the villains roster, plus he'd be cool if they gave him the voice he had in the Brave and the Bold cartoon.
Gorilla Grodd
You might be saying that how are they going to have Grodd when he's a background character already? Well Doomsday was a background character and he's playable, and people want Martian Manhunter in the game despite being in the Watch Tower. Flash needs a villain to fight, I'd say Captain Cold but we already have Killer Frost for an ice based character. He could even use his powers to take control of another character or something. IDK.
Gentleman Ghost
My knowledge of Gentleman Ghost comes from the Brave and the Bold cartoon mostly, but he's an interesting character to have in Injustice if done right. Originally I thought he was a Batman villain but the internet tells me that he's the villain of Hawkman and Hawkgirl. I mean sure why not? We have/had too many Batman characters in the game, so adding some balance would be cool. He could use his cane and pistols to fight, plus he is a fighter as it was demosntrated when he fought against Sherlock Holmes in the Brave and the Bold. Plus you would be able to see his face when you hit him, that would be really cool.
Zatanna
Zatanna is a magician and I didn't really know about her till Batman: The Animated Series (and yes she is hot), I'm well aware that we have 2 magic based characters in the game, Captain Marvel/Shazam and Black Adam but if we count Raven, that's 3. Let's make it an even 2 for some female magic users. Zatanna would be really cool and interesting if done right, and I think her super move would be interesting, like using her hat or something.
Static
Before you ask, now he's called Static, Static Shock was the name of the cartoon. We don't have that many characters that use electric based powers, I don't could Black Adam or Shazam because those are magic based powers. Alot of people want Static in, and so do I. I mean they added Scorpion in the game so why not? He would be pretty interesting to use, he'll certainly put a shock to your system.
Huntress
I'm not sure if she's a Batman character or not but I'd really love to see her as a fighter. I've seen her fight in Justice League Unlimited and The Brave and the Bold and she's a really good fighter. I think she will mostly be gadget based and maybe long range with her crossbow. Not sure what her super move would be, maybe she can use her motorcycle but then people will say she is just ripping of Nightwing's super move. Although she would look better using her motorcycle.
Booster Gold
Alot of people either like, hate, or like to hate ol Boosty there. My brother is a fan of him which is why he's on the list but if you think about it, he could be a good fit. I mean I've seen him fight and he can have 2 stances, flight/hover above the ground or grounded to the ground. One of his character powers can involve his robot partner/sidekick Skeets (hope I got it right) and he can shoot people with a laser or something. His super move, well IDK but it could be pretty interesting. You also can't have Booster Gold without Blue Beetle...
Blue Beetle
I never knew about Blue Beetle till I saw the Brave and the Bold cartoon and the first episode got me hooked to the series. And I became a fan of Blue Beetle. Plus Will Friedle voices Blue Beetle and you mostly know him as Eric in Boy Meets World, plus he was Batman in Batman Beyond which is just as awesome as it sounds. I'd love to see the Jaime Reyes Blue Beetle, his moveset can be pretty cool because according to the show, his suit can morph and make weapons and stuff. He is basically DC's version of Spider-man, and Injustice doesn't have any younger fighters in, so it would be cool to see him get more than just screen time.
Power Girl
Besides Blue Beetle, Power Girl is high on my list of fighters I want to see in the game. If I had to choose between Blue Beetle and Power Girl, I'd go with Power Girl. She is my most favorite hero besides Batman, well female but it's hard to decide between her and Batgirl. Not sure which version they'll use, I most likely want the Kryptonian version but they'll probably go with her other version to give the list variety. I mean yes people mostly like her because of her boobs but she is a really cool character, and funny. I hope she's in because alot of people want her in, and I agree with those people.
Space Ghost
You might be thinking that I'm crazy, but Space Ghost is a DC property apparently. I didn't know that but that just brings us a step closer to seeing the worlds greatest talk show host in a game. I mean he'll bring something different to the table, he can fly, use his pwer bands, and even turn invisilbe. His super can either have Jan and Jace fly in the Phantom Cruiser and shoot at the opponents or something. Or if you want something more zany, Zorak, Moltar, and Brak can appear in the super and fight, but that would be better off as a dlc stage where you fight on the show, and level transitions would involve going to different parts, like with Moltar and Zorak. This could break the internet if it was real, other than Freakazoid...
Freakazoid!
I'm dead serious that I want him in the game. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has Deadpool, Injustice can have Freakazoid. Plus when they were making the show, Bruce Timm was making/working on it and wanted it to be like Batman TAS but Spielberg wanted a comedy, guess who won? It would be hilarious to see him break the 4th wall and his super move can have him send you in the internet or something, it will just be pure crazyness. He did have a comic appearance but as a cameo in an Animaniacs comic. It's about time they bring him back, and having him in the game would be really awesome. Heck if he becomes popular, maybe they can get him a cartoon or comic series.
So who do you think? Who would you like to see in Injustice? I left out some obious choices like Martian Manhunter because it's already a give that he might be in. I also tried to leave out as many Batman characters as I could. So who would you like to see? Thanks for reading and later.
First off, I LOVE Red Hood, so I agree with you on that. Blue Beetle would also be cool.I really like the idea of Freakazoid! I remember watching that as a kid, and randomly bring him into conversations.
Martian Manhunter would be really cool, but as you said, it's a big guarantee that he will be in it.
This is actually a constant topic among my friends, so I'll have to see what they think.
Red Hood is really cool, I never knew about him till I saw the animated movie, did you ever watch it? He could be pretty cool, and I want Blue Beetle, I think he's DC's Spider-man. Well the new/modern BB, not the previous ones. And Freakazoid is really awesome, granted I didn't understand alot of the pop-culture references at the time, but after rewatching it, it just makes me laugh.
On Martian Manhunter, people have been clamoring for him so we know he'll probably be in anyway. And who would you personally want in the game?
I vote for Red Hood. Haha. That IS my personal choice. I absolutely LOVE that movie; I think it's my favorite out of all the DC animated movies.
I wonder if there's any good way to incorporate Captain Atom into the game...?
Even though I also agree that there's too many Batman characters, the character I want the most as DLC is Batwing. He's like a Ironman like character. Most of what I also would like you have as well like Booster Gold and Static Shock. The only one I would possibly add would be Mxyzilplx. He could be like a character who could break the fourth wall and be all sorts of zanyness like Freakazoid.
I had to google who Batwing was to make sure you weren't talking about Batman's plane. But google says that he's from the Batman Incorperated and he's pretty cool, I wasn't even aware of an African Batman, though I am aware of Man of Bat's though. Booster and Static would be cool, and don't know who is Mxyzilplx is but I've heard alot of people clamoring for him, but if he can break the 4th wall like Freakazoid, why not?
Not sure if a match between Freakazoid, Deadpool, and Space Ghost would be amazing or annoying ... depends, I guess. I am a fan of Deadpool, and while I don't remember much of them, Space Ghost and Freakazoid were definitely parts of my childhood.
Under the Red Hood is a damn good movie.
The others I've never heard of, but I hear your arguments for all of them. Had to look up Power Girl cause for some reason whatever picture of hers you had doesn't show up for me. Well, then. Tits.
And let's add the Tick and it would be even more zany lol Space Ghost and Freakazoid are parts of my childhood too which is why I like them, but if done right they can be cool fighters. And yeah, Red Hood is a really good movie, for me it's up there with Mask of the Phantasm and Return of the Joker as far as DCAU movies go.
And good thing you caught the pic thing, it isn't showing for me too, gonna fix that. And yeah, people mostly like Power Girl for tits.
I'm really confused as to why Zatanna and Huntress weren't already in the game. They've both been in a few Justice League games and they both have really awesome powers that would translate well into a fighting game.
Also, I'd love to see Rorschach. The Watchmen is DC owned, and I think that could be kind of epic.
Exactly, they can easily translate well in the game if done right. Hopefully both or one of them makes it in. And not familiar with Watchmen but people do want Rorschach in the game, and he does look like the Question.
I don't know much about DC comics characters, but Power Girl is cool for some reason. It would be funny if Freakazoid were on there. Are you looking forward to the new Scribblenauts game that features DC characters?
I wouldn't mind if no one but Power Girl made it from my list, I really want her in the game. Freakazoid would be really funny in the game, plus more humor is never a bad thing. And I'm not sure if I'll get it right away but the new Scribblenauts game looks really awesome.
Ever since I read 52 and Identity Crisis, I have alwasy been a fan of Ralph Dibney, The Elongated Man. I think that it would be awesome to have him as a fighter.
As far as your list, I think that Static Shock, Zatanna and Booster Gold would be awesome additions.
I mostly know of Elongated Man because of the DCAU cartoons, but he can work if they do his moveset and fighting style right. I'd love to see those too, but it's a matter of hoping they are in the game.
I have no idea how Black Manta hasn't made it into Injustice yet. It's a damn atrocity.
Me neither, it's more like a crime. He's a perfect fit for the game, I wonder how that passed by NetherRealm Studios.
Booster Gold would be brilliant, really curious how they would make him look in the style of the Injustice game... could be a good comedic off-set to the rest of the game.
As for characters I think would natural fit in that'd be cool are:
Clayface from Batman
Scarecrow from Batman
Mongul from Superman and Green Lantern
Bizarro Superman
Kilowag from Green Lantern
Superboy
Mr. Freeze (would be an easy Sub Zero clone)
Martian Manhunter and Darkseid appear in the game as well. I hope they become playable characters.
That game is awesome, I hope they make a sequel with a huge cast like this.
All of those characters could really cool, Mongul would be cool too and Mr. Freeze. I can't see them using Bizarro as an alternate costume for Superman but like how they did Nightwing, since kinda is 2 different characters. I know that sucks but it's what we'll probably wont get (did you see what I did lol)

Well Deathstroke is in the game now so that's something. I'd love to see Static and Zatanna as well, mostly Zatanna lol
Zatanna is hawt and her attacks as a magician would be interesting. Static is simply all about electricity but a lot of neat things can be done with that basic ability. They're both good characters.
Redhood is awesome, I liove the movie under the red hood, they might even try to tie in some cross costume for Joker too when he was the red hood, Neather Realm are good at fan service so I have lots of confidence in them. Plus Freakazoid would rule...... and Powdered Toast man. I'm thinking of another ultimate battle here!
Doesn't have to do much with Injustice, but, since I think you know a lot about DC comics, which series should I look to get myself more into the comics?
I'd be really in favor of Freakazoid, but my most wanted is Rorschach. Guy's like Batman with the Joker's sanity, awesome.
This is why Im selling my copy of Injustice. I love the game but I know their gonna do more characters and release a Ultimate edition with all the DLC. They already announced Martian Manhunter as the 5th. I see more coming so I might as well sell it and wait for it all to be on one disc. I should have considered that when I first bought it but I was soo excited for it,lol!
