PS3 game recommendations.

Hey all!

I've been getting the itch for a new system lately, even though my back log tells me I have no right to do so. I'm thinking about getting a PS3. Even though I had a PS1 and PS2 (well still have, see backlog comment) I avoided the 3 because it was out of my price range originally. I instead got a 360 which I still enjoy and a wii for the family which believe it or not, I still enjoy (remember the backlog comment?)

Anyways, the price seems like it will be pretty cheap soon and I'm not one to always need the latest and greatest, read the new hyped consoles can wait a couple years.

This idea first popped in my head after seeing "The Last of Us" which I am itching to play. I have heard good things about the "Uncharted" series and always had a novel curiosity about "Little Big Planet".

What other games did PS3 have I cannot play on what I already own that would make the purchase more worthwhile to me? Which ones were your favorites that you recommend?

The Last of Us above all else. Even though a lot of people disagree, I'd say the only Uncharted worth bothering with is 2. Other exclusives I'd recommend are Ratchet and Clank Tools of Destruction/A Crack in Time, Sly Cooper 4, and Tokyo Jungle off PSN.

Thanks for the advice. It sounds like I'm not off base wanting to play the last of us. Believe it or not, I have never played a ratchet and clank game so I have a lot of catching up to do there. Did they release an HD collection for ps3?

I remember hearing something about Tokyo Jungle before, I'll have to look that up again.

Yeah, there is an HD collection. First one's okay, second's really good, third is mind blowingly awesome.

I am a big JRPG fan as well. I have no idea what ones PS3 had so I will take your recommendations as a starting point.

That makes it official. I for sure will check out his JRPG list.

It's good to see I'm not the only one looking at a "new" current console. A lot of folks act like I'm crazy. "Why not buy a PS4?" Ha Ha, if it was backwards compatible, I would for sure but til then, I'll save a few hundred bucks and see you in a couple years. :)

I thought Ni no Kuni was good. Stay away from the PS3 versions of Mass Effect. I didn't like the first Uncharted game. I've been told many times the 2nd game is better. God of War 3 is ok.

Valkyria Chronicles and Ni no Kuni come to mind. I'd also recommend Tales of Graces f and the upcoming Tales of Xillia.
