Ratchet & Clank endgame, iPod resurrection and the simple joy of A/C.

I'm at the final boss encounter in Ratchet & Clank and my attempts at beating Drek have been unsuccessful.

not the best pic, but I didn't take it.

He's a cheap bastard and I don't approve of how the game kicks you right back to the beginning even when you reach the final stage of the fight. There are even some instances where ammo refills don't drop around the arena which is just certain death for me. When I get bored of taking him on, I've gone back to other planets to farm for bolts.

On this 2nd playthrough of the game, the intention was to do certain things I didn't when I played this game for the PS2 8-9 years ago; namely, getting the gold bolts, the gold weapons and possibly the RYNO (which I've never acquired in any R&C game). I'm not doing this specifically for trophies (I'm currently at level 6; what does that tell you?) but to unlock some abilities I didn't see last time. While the hoverboard sequences drove me batty, for the most part this game has held up. I know the shooting and movement mechanics improved in latter games but what Insomniac accomplished here is pretty impressive.

Has anyone here ever farmed for the bolts and unlocked all the weapons?

Some months ago, I posted what I felt was a funeral dirge for my iPod classic after I stupidly left it exposed to the sun in my vehicle. The only good news was that it didn't fry the hard drive but the battery was fucked. On my last paycheck, I finally ordered some new replacement batteries from Amazon and they're compatible with my 6th Gen 60 GB & my 5th Gen 30 GB. By the end of next week, I should have these puppies up and going.

And I don't know why I procrastinated over something like this but the a/c in my truck was finally repaired yesterday and I don't know how I made it this far into the summer without it. It's been brutal and we're only halfway through July. I no longer have to go anywhere sweating like crazy (until the freeon runs out, I suppose).

I plan to see Pacific Rim this afternoon and maybe sneak in a 2nd go at Man of Steel. All in all, it's my 2nd day of laziness and I plan to act accordingly.

here in Arizona, A/C is a must.  But even with it on, I sweat like a beast in cars, I don't know why.  It's just too much heat!

Glad to hear you're getting your iPod fixed.  I think I broke my iPad... it's not charging.  I'm taking it to the apple store next week, and hopefully they won't charge me a bucket of flesh.

I wrapped ratchet and clank back on the PS2. It took me forever to save up for the RYNO though. I decided to just go over the first 4 plants over and over again because I was afraid of dying. Pretty sure those planets give the fewest amount of bolts though!

I still have yet to get the ratchet and clank collection, I didnt play them in the PS2 era and Ive been wanting to. I dont use the A/C in my truck, my first car didnt have a good working one so I got use to putting the window down.

I got the RYNO on my first playthrough of R&C but never again. I did get it in all the subsequent games though. I feel like grinding for bolts isn't as bad in those. Drek is a real pain though. I agree on that.
