I’m tired of fighting! And random updates...

I'm Tired of Fighting

I meant to blog about the dark side of social gaming but I’ve decided not to after getting into a huge flame war over the weekend, and I’m not talking about ‘Chivalry Medieval Warfare’ either. The battleground is a comment section under an article proclaiming ‘A Realm Reborn’ having a lot of good new content, which of course drew out the veteran, hardcore, and old WoW players in a game of siege against the author and anyone who enjoys the game in any way arguing that the content is poor quality because [insert all the reasons why it’s not World of Warcraft or FFXI], and I’m mentally exhausted from defending. I actually woke up tired. Geez! And the war still rages on...

Rather than keeping to fighting I decided to retreat into single player indie games like ‘To The Moon’ to rejuvenate my love for games.

Pixlbit Steam Group

Getting away from the form of trolling I described above was what motivated me to get friends together and form a group on Steam for Pixlbit users. I was a bit surprised at the outcome really. I only expected 4-5 people as most coop games only require 2-4 people so 4-5 would have sufficed, but now we have “20”! Now we just have to organize game nights which are coming...Thanks to everyone for joining. The group will only get better once we have more active participation. It’s not a forced group. You can participate as much or as little as you like.

Beware! The Batman

“Hunted”
I really enjoyed this new take on Batman.  He’s my favorite comic character and I especially like all the villains. This new version has been CGI-ified like a Pixar movie so it’s very sleek and clean looking, which makes Batman look pretty cool, especially the Batmobile. This new episode centered on the relationship between Bruce Wayne and Alfred, who is not the familiar old butler anymore, but a younger former MI-6 spy who resembles Jason Strathom from the ‘Transporter’ series. He’s a tough son of a b*** now! The villains all come from ‘Grant Morrison’ versions of the comics. The first villains debuting in this new show are Professor Pyg and Mister Toad - environmental terrorists. They kidnap some rich guys, and Alfred gets swept up by accident so Batman has to save them all of course. I feel the tone was a bit goofy, maybe not as dark as the 90’s cartoon series or Batman Beyond for example, but I still enjoyed it and I will give this new series a chance.

A Realm Reborn

I played the hell out of this beta! Now it’s time to wait for launch and get serious. I don’t know how many players will commit to subscribing, but I hope ‘hardcore’ and trolls decide the game is not for them, because they are probably the worst part of the game for me so far. Luckily Steam Sales are happening to keep me busy for a month.

i really want to see that new Batman show.  I'm disappointed Alfred is all macho though.  In MY Batman story, Alfred is gay, a motherly figure for Bruce.  Laughing

Kudos on starting the Steam group.  That's really awesome.

I've been playing the beta a little.  I'm ready to start a real character now though.  I don't even like the Pugilist I have.

Alfred can't be macho and gay?

I had no idea about that new Batman. I'll have to check it out.

Like that troll picture. I guess they're the same group that gave that Raychul woman shit for not liking Dragon's Dogma?

New Batman is a part of DC Nation on CartoonNetwork. Sat mornings. I thought it was very well done.

Trolls. I can understand criticism of a game I happen to like, but the only reason trolls exist is to sour on everybody for no reason and their negativity spreads unless it's stomped out. Misinformation seems to be their main goal, and attention of course. I normally don't give in to fighting, but I can't help but correct misinformation and people blindly agreeing with it.

Stay classy trolls.... Oh! Wait.

Anyway, finally joined the group. Just give me more time to perfect my skills (or learn them) at Team Fortress 2 and we can have a game night out of that.

Well if you find at least one other person to play, then the purpose for the group creation has been successful. I'll play anything as long as it's in my library. I don't mind playing with you as long as I have the game re-loaded and get some practice runs in. If I see you playing some time I'll ask to join. Cool

Everyone keeps talking about the Steam Summer Sale, and here I am with a laptop at home that's as old as a dinosaur and can barely emulate NES games.. lol

Don't feel bad. It's just impulse buying of games that  will sit in our libraries for a long time and make us feel like we are behind on our gaming bucket list. Oh wait, a flash sale! Gotta go!Cry

Fan boys really can be the worst. It's as if "nothing else can be good too" once they've sworn their blood oath to a particular franchise. I wouldn't let it get you down! Wink
