I've never played the Prime games, but I'd really like to. I have a Gamecube set up. There's no reason for me not to, really.
Xenoblade and a Trilogy...

It is on its way, in record time I might add. I ordered a copy of Xenoblade Chronicles shortly after I asked the simple question whether it is worth it. $100 for a game is not cheap, but with the overwhelmingly positive response I had to buy it. Also, thanks to Digital Mystery Tour episode_7 I listened to the start menu music, and fell in love. There is just one big problem that will prevent me from booting up Xenoblade Chronicles the moment that I receive it, and that is Metroid Prime.
Over the past week, I have been playing Metroid Prime as part of the Metroid Prime Trilogy. I finished it up over the weekend. My only problem with the Metroid Prime Trilogy release is learning the new control scheme. Changing the game to be setup more like the typical dual-analog FPS has a small effect on how the game is played. I did miss the old gamecube controls for switching between visors and weapons. They also seemed to have taken away any aim assist, so certain battles were a little more stressful this time around. I was losing my grip on the controller when I was fighting the Omega Pirate this time around... I cannot remember the last time I had such a problem.
So the problem about starting Xenoblade Chronicles once I get it. Well, Metroid Prime is part of a trilogy. I cannot just abandon the rest of the games just to play Xenoblade. So, I started up my favourite of the Metroid Prime games, Echoes. It has been nearly six years since I last played Echoes, and so I am extra excited to play it. I had forgotten about all of the little improvements that Retro added to the game over its predecessor. I like have an easier time knowing what I have and have not scanned into my log book. I like how when you use missiles the arm cannon is a little different than it was in Prime. I just love the game, I never had a problem with purple and I am a sucker for games that feature light and dark worlds. The one other thing that I really like about Echoes is how much more industrial the world feels. Tallon IV is a planet with ruins of the Chozo who left years ago. Aether was not abandoned long ago, and the planet is not in the state of decay that Tallon IV was.
Metroid Prime 4.
Everybody wants a new Metroid game. I will never complain about a new Metroid game. In fact I cannot wait for another one. I just do not think that Metroid Prime 4 is the game that we should have. Unless, I am mistaken Metroid Prime was a trilogy that wrapped up fairly nicely. Why would you really want to continue that stroyline? It would be wonderful if they continued that style of game, a first person action adventure. In the end, I am most curious about what Samus has been doing since Metroid Fusion. They keep adding games between main entries. The Prime games came between Metroid and Metroid 2. Other M came between Super and Fusion. In reality, I am sure that they will make a new game between Metroid 2 and Super, but why not Metroid 5?
On another note, the steam sale is being very wonderful. I have already purchased 3 games that I probably will not play for a good long while. I got Antichamber, The Swapper, and Ys 1&2. I also got a few more VC games, specifically FF III and Secret of Mana. I should probably stop buying more games until I beat what I currently have, or have coming...
