Strider Returns

The first time I've seen Strider, he was one of the playable fighter in Marvel Vs. Capcom. He had a striking visual and was a good fighter too. I wondered which game he was from, but it would yet take me some time to find that out. When I did (huh, Strider is from the game Strider, who would've guessed), I also realized it would be a bit hard to check out his games mysefl, seeing they were released for arcades, the NES and the Mega Drive, and old arcade cabinets or game cartridges are a bit difficult to find, or too expensive just for curiosity's sake.

Then, Capcom announces this:

There is also a gameplay video on Youtube, if you didn't see it. It is hard to tell if Hiryu's new foray in gaming will be memorable or a mess, but I am anxious to finally don the red scarf and bad guys in style :)

The arcade game has been released on various arcade collections. I have it on PS2, but I think it's on newer systems as well.

I actually have the nes version that was bundled into a cartridge for the gba. It also came with the original bionic commando. I also noticed that the genesis version is on the Wii virtual console. I never figured out what to actually do in the game, so I usually gave up early on.

I thought slicing the bad guys was the goal, but I can't really tell. Bionic Commando seems to be awesome too.

Little known fact: Strider 2 was released for the original playstation. It also has the original included on a second disc. It's one of my most favorite games in my collection.
