Disgaea: D2 A Brighter Darkness for PS3

So i saw that of course the ps3 is getting Disgaea D2 which looks awesome and released on 10-8-13 and if i had a PS3 i would pre order it but of course i will order just about anything with the name Nippon Itchi attached to it, but any way heres some screen shots of it.

graphics look great. I always wanted to get into one of these games. Maybe when I get a Vita....I like playing my TRPG's on handhelds.

Looks really cool! I was actually checking out Disgaea 4 the other day, but I didn't pick it up. I'm curious though, do the games (sequels) follow one another story-wise, or are they entirely new tales?

I imagine they're new stories that don't follow one another, but I'm just curious!

Although i dont own a ps3 i have heard that Disgaea has a tight story that expands from the ps2 to the ps3 versions of the story and as a matter of fact on ps2 phantom brave and Makai kingdoms fit into the story as well.
