Have you ever been so mad at a game that you've thrown a controller?

Plenty of times but the worse of it was because of the final boss on Heavenly Sword

Yes.

1.) Milon's Secret Castle

2.) Ninja Gaiden 2

3.) Slingshot AI in any simulation racing game

4.) Every bonus stage in any Spyro game ever.

5.) Castlevania's jump arcs + enemy placement (early on at least)

6.) Mike Tyson in Punch Out!!

7.) Ghosts'n'Goblins

8.) Ghouls'n'Ghosts (Yep, twice)

9.) GTA 3, the coffee stands across all 3 islands. Timed.

10.) Ocarina of Time - The Water Temple, you spoony MOTHERFUCKING bard. Use a key in the wrong place? GG.

'spoony MOTHERFUCKING bard' ...omg, love you. x)

I've been so mad I've thrown a controller, but this was when my Mad Catz push button for my nice metal DDR mat was refusing to stop cycling "select". ~.~

Probably while playing Battletoads back in the day. I don't get that mad anymore at games though. I played Ninja Gaiden on NES recently and was so close to finishing it.. before giving up. If I get that stressed out I just stop playing.

Jak II.  I was so frustrated I not only threw the controller.  I smashed it to bits on the ground.

I never was much of a thrower, but if I did it would have been the NES days.

I threw one back in the Sega Gensis day, however after that I havent thrown one. Waiting for dad to buy a new one taught me a lesson, lol!

I totally used to smash my NES controller on the TV when I was a kid. Mega Man 3 was almost always to blame. Thank god they were big thick CRTs back then, because nowadays that would be a high price to pay for rage. I don't get that worked up about games any more, so I haven't thrown a controller since then.

No.  I never purposely throw a controller, but I did swing my arm in rage and the controller slipped from my hand. Cool

I don't remember.  But my nephews were throwing my controllers when they visited me and it pissed me off!  Yell

More like PSP screen biter. I remember doing that with Resistance: Retribution and the harder enemies in Dissidia: Final Fantasy. That's all I got for now.

That, my friend, is awesome. I never thought to bite my PSP screen out of frustration. Now I will.

I don't remember exactly which Genesis game it was, but it was definitely a Genesis game.

I like to play difficult games but I never throw controllers. I can't remember ever throwing a controller, the only damage the happens to mine have always been accidents by stepping on the cords and making them fall from an entertainment center or dropping them in my hands onto the floor.

As a kid I never threw controllers either, I always knew that the controllers were a product that I had to take care of and without it I wouldn't be able to play my games, and they are expensive so I never wanted to waste them by tossing them around. Some of it is just patience and never getting too upset at video games, but some of it was always just respecting my property and not wanting to ruin stuff.

I did kick a computer and screw it up a bit once, I hate all the computers I grew up with, we never had anything up to date and they were all mildly functional and I never got used to it like everybody else did. They would overheat and shut down all the time, get viruses, HDs would crash, speeds would be super slow, normal computer stuff. I tried to kick one of them to death one time and broke up some of the shell and maybe messed up some of the multimedia drives I think.

Yea! Kick those darn towers. They're on the floor. That's what they are there for. Kick away!

No, I always knew that if I broke a controller, I wouldn't be able to get another, or I'd be paying for that instead of a game. I've yelled at the tv plenty of times though.

I don't throw controllers, too expensive. I just yell and swear at the TV like a mad man.

The final boss battles in FFVII all made me want to throw it. Then kick in the TV for mocking me! How dare you, sir!

Yeah... fucking Skate 2 was the first game to get me there and that was because the physics kept fucking my shit up. Most other games I acknowledge it was my fault and persevere, but the fucking death races in Skate 2, I swear to god!

Plenty of fighting games to that to me, sad to say. Ranked matches+ seriosus lag= unhappy Corey. I remeber the first Wizpig battle in Diddy Kong Racing was so bad when I was a kid I threw the controller and chipped it. I got in trouble for that too.

That's a yes! When things have gotten particularly hairy, I also may have bitten a controlller or 2 in my youth!

Man, we need a biters support group on Pixlbit. But mainly because I want to hear more stories of people biting controllers and systems. Yeah!

I remember throwing my SNES controller to the floor many times, or just dropping it, mostly because of the Ice levels of Donkey Kong Country. It was on carpet, so no harm done. Those SNES controllers were pretty hard to break and I never worried too much about them. Today, I just make a mock gesture of throwing the controller at the TV screen. It's really unthinkable now with those things costing $60 to replace. Plus today's controllers are high tech gadgets themselves, not just a piece of plastic housing a tiny board with buttons on it.

No, I actually would shake the controller up and down violently on rare occassions, but never threw anything.

Yeah. These days I just quit if I get frustrated. Shoot, when I was younger I was biting them. lol

NSonic79

Nope. I'm kinda zen when it comes to games like that. When I sense myself getting mad at a game (for any reason) I get up and shut down the game. That's when I know it's time to take a break for awhile.

What? stop looking at me like that! Not everyone gets mad that quickly!

I almost threw the controller once. The culprit? Super Monkey Ball on the GameCube.
