Back doors and crazy glitches

So who here has ever made Mario jump right over the flag pole only to find yourself running in an endless loop, with the aid of a Game Genie of course. Or got in to the developers room in Final Fantasy VII via a Game Shark. These are the places you were never ment to go but it is just too cool when you do. Its kind of like sneaking onto a movie set after everyone has gone home. Used to most of these tricks were only possble with aide of a cheat code device, but as games have gotten bigger and more elaborate it seems programmers are more likely to leave manholes open for you to fall into.

One of the first I remember exploiting was in GTA 3. If you got into a tank, turned the turret backward, start driving, start shooting and if you get it just right the tank will become air born. The common destination was to try and fly the tank into the football collosium. I can't help but think Rockstar had planned for this because once you got into the collosium it was apparent you were trapped and not getting out how you got in. If you walk toward the center of the field you would fall into a whole that looped to the sky and suddenly you would find yourself falling out of the sky only to land on the street and die. It was hilarious.

Recently I found some in Borderlands 2. A couple I already knew about but have found a couple on my own. Most of these are holes that will allow you to get under the map. The most well known one is in the Dust, the easiest one to check out is just outside of Santuary in the Three Horns Valley. The one I discovered is in the Highlands. I was toying around with another hole I learned of that lets you walk around underneath Sanctuary. My curiosity got the beter of me and I found that there is a massive area behind Sanctuary that you can walk around and explore.

Anyway I never get tired of finding stuff like this and to me its cool to see whats going on behind the curtain. So what crazy glitches or unknown areas have you found in a game?

when I was a little boy playing Kings Quest and stuff my older brother used to tease me with tales of hidden areas of those Sierra games where you meet "Princess Iguana".  For a short time I actually believed him.

I can't remember any specific game with hidden tricks like that, but I know I've played a few, maybe in Quake, or something, I can't remember.

Big brothers can be mean, luckily for me I WAS the big brother, lol. Although I wasn't the mean type I pulled my share of pranks on my little brother.

None really, mostly I just get the frustrating ones.

Yeah, usually glitches are not a good thing and the bad ones greatly out number the fun ones. But I look for the fun ones when I can.

Fable II had some issues when it first released. I remember falling through the world a lot. Good times!

Falling through the ground at random could be an issue for sure, lol. The holes in Borderlands actually require some effort to find thankfully.

Fallout New Vegas on PS3. The whole damn game lol. I've never encountered so many glitches and bugs. Even after all the patches it was still a glitchy mess.

I have heard that the DLC on Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls are pretty buggy too. I have both but have not got that far into either. The first Borderlands was pretty buggy too.

This isn't new areas but in Just Cause there's sometimes a sort of glitch where a person will get stuck standing on your car. Once I hit a motorcycle and it must've been stuck underneath my car for a while, but when it finally got unstuck, the rider popped up and stood on the hood of my car and stayed there no matter where I drove. Another time, I hit a car with a flat bed truck and the person flew out and into the bed and walked around back there stuck but still alive while I kept driving. I like little weird events like that in games. It surprises you.

I saw a really funny montage on youtube of glitch footage from Sleeping Dogs. Very similar to your expirience with Just Cause. People and cars doing a lot of crazy stuff when they come in contact with each other.

I have fond memories of the FFVII Developer's Room. Good times.

Man that thing was a tripped out maze. I actually found a room with a kind of pyramid of boxes. If you approached the boxes it would go into a battle, you against the boxes. After you did a few round of damage you would win and it would give you a load of exp. I went from like lv 67 to 100 after doing it three or four times. Of course I couldn't figure out how to get out and save,Yell. Yeah good times, lol.

Yeah, there was a way to get that and a boatload of materia as well. Plus there was a warp that put you at Icicle Inn with Aerith in your party. I think Gamefaqs has a walkthrough on how to do it all. My favorite was the one for FF Tactics.

I didn't know about the one for FFT, I was thinking there was one FF8 too, not positive though, that a long time ago.
