Based on the trailers and second hand accounts of the games announced so far, here are my predictions for the aggregate review scores we'll see for some of this year's games.
Since this isn't based on any, you know, actual facts, I'll probably change my views as we learn more.
Vita Exclusives:
Killzone: Mercenary - Mid/High 80s. Will be the definitive FPS experience on dedicated handhelds.
Tearaway - High 80s/Low 90s. I expect this to go over really well.
PS4 Exclusives:
Killzone - Mid/High 80s. I expect this to get the best reception of all the PS4's launch titles.
Driveclub - Low/Mid 80s. Will have solid scores, but won't be beating Forza.
Knack - High 60s/low 70s. Uninspired, repetetive gameplay and bland graphics will work against it.
Infamous: Second Son - Low/Mid 80s. Will have great graphics and gameplay, but won't really rock the boat or exceed expectations.
Xone Exclusives:
Ryse - Low/Mid 70s. The gameplay looks and sounds woefully uninspired and derivative, and I can't see them fixing it in a few months.
Dead Rising 3 - Low/Mid 70s. The game looks really mediocre to me, and the way they're trying to appeal to the COD crowd and old series fans simultaneously gives me pause.
Killer Instinct - High 70s/Low 80s. It'll be goofy fun, but not particularly solid or super technical. Just like the last two games.
Forza 5 - Mid/High 80s. Expect it to go over about as well as the last Forza did.
WiiU Exclusives:
Super Mario 3D World - Mid/High 80s. I expect this to be a great, well put together game. The very blatant similarities to 3D Land will work against it due to a bit of Mario oversaturation in the past 12-18 months.
Wind Waker HD - High 80s/Low 90s. I suspect the desire to see a brand new Zelda, coupled with 10 years of time since the original release, will have a severe drag on the remake's scores. I don't expect to see nearly as many 100s and 95s this time. It will still be highly praised, though.
DK Tropical Freeze - Low/Mid 80s. Again, I expect a knock on effect due to DKCR being released just last May.
Wonderful 101 - Mid/High 70s. I don't have high hopes for this game, either in terms of sales or reviews.
Multi-plats:
Assasins Creed 4 - Low/Mid 80s. I expect it'll be recieved slightly better than AC3, but not by much.
CoD: Ghosts - Low/Mid 80s. Really don't see it reviewing any better than BLOPS2, even with the dog.
Battlefield 4 - High 80s/Low 90s - It might not sell more than Ghosts, but I expect it to get better reviews.
Titanfall - Low/Mid 90s. This will probably be the best reviewed game available on next-gen platforms.
Destiny - High 80s/Low 90s. It won't quite live up to the lofty expectations it has going for it, but will still be a great game regardless.
GTAV - Mid/High 90s. This is going to wreck shop in a big way, sending the last gen off with a bang. I bet it'll be the highest rated game on any platform in 2013.
Saint's Row IV - Mid/High 70s. I don't see this one going over as well as The Third.
Sonic: Lost World - Mid/High 80s. I have high hopes for this one, and expect it to be the best recieved Sonic in years.
