I love crafts. Was thinking I might like working in a crafts store too. Eh, maybe not. But I love the craft store.
Crafting Stuff!

So staying true to my word! This is some of the crafting things I have worked on so far! I am still in the mists of going to work on my shadow box but I need to spraypaint it first. Hopefully this weekend is nice! And I am also planning on making myself some earings! We'll see how that goes though, I got myself two jewlery making books and some of the stuff can be a little tricky.
Anyways, first is a photo of a collage I made from old calander photos and insperational paper quotes. I thought I would make it feel orientalish and I think it came out nice! I have cut the extra white space off and now all I need is a photo frame. I told Cory it's one of our art works to hang in our place once we move in together. Otherwise I'm going to beat him with it...and it worked so I made my first wall art!
This photo is something I made for my mom. When we went to Michaels they had a flipflop wreath there but it was $60. SO I told my mom I could make her one for half of that, and I did, $27 to be exact. I just got myself a wreath back that was styrofoam. I didn't want to get the flat one that could easily flake, this one is solid. Then I bought myself some fake flowers and flipflops from old navy. All you do it hotglue the flipflops to the wreath back and you can just stick the flowers in. If they are falling out just add some hot glue to the steam part (which I cut shorter) and restick it back in the wreath. The last thing is just adding the hook which I made out of wire and hotglued that shiz out of it to not let it fall out haha. You can add ribbon or letters in the middle depending on how big the wreath you get it or how you wanna design it. You dont need old navy flipflops but I figure they are the easiest to cordinate with and they have sales on the solid color ones typically.
My shadow box project that I am working on is where I am taking these mini figures of Hello Kitty that a friend got for me and I am gluing/haning them in the shadow box. First though I am spray painting it a tan stone finish so it'll feel like stone and look like it. So I am pumped about that cool stuff. Then all I need to do is stick the figures in, which some may be pretty tricky I feel cause they are not too tiny but they are small.
The earrings I am planning to make are very cruvy and such. I had to go out to buy this wire peg board for myself in order to bend the wire in cool shapes. I am excited to try it out, and I made sure it's one of the simpler designs but it still is pretty tricky. I am just hoping that the book gives as good of instructions as the kit I got from Wal-Mart but there's not a whole lot of photos in there showing how to do every step so I'll just have to take my time with it. I am going to make a bracelet/necklace set after the earrings and when I get some spare change to go out and buy more beads. I know the set I want to make is going to be a pain in the butt since they are dealing with seed beads which are small beads, also dealing with elastic string. So if I mess up and dont notice for awhile and then notice after doing another 10 minutes of work I messed up....gotta take everything off that I did. The technique I am planning to do is called the right-angle weave.
Well off to bed now! I am trying to get back on a normal sleep pattern and it is not easy. I some how messed it all up again!
