Finaly Playing Bioshock Infifnite!

Talk about timing, I was just days from cancling my Gamefly subscription when they send me Bioshock Infifnite. So admittedly I have the first two games and have put maybe an hour at most into either of them. I really want to like them but the clausterphobic enviroments and creepy denizens make me feel like I'm trapped in a giant underwater asylem.

But infinite is a total 180 from those games. Its still creepy but in a different way. Its hard to explain so I'm not going to try, its something you just have to expirience. I have not been this drawn into a game since playing the Mass trilogy. So far it lives up to the hype. Of course this has caused me to put Tales on hold which may be on hold for a I while with Final Fantasy XIV coming out next week. So I hope that I can finish Bioshock before the end of the week.

I have also been enjoying some more classic late 90's anime, Bublegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040. Its basically a reboot of the original Bublegum Crisis which I have only seen a few episode of way back the day. But this show it pretty good, nice mix of humour and action yet light on the techno bable that weigh some sci-fi anime down. Its streaming on Netflix if your curious. Well that's all I got for today. Thanks for reading, laters.

Might check that Bubblegum thing out after I get finished watching Punch Drunk Love. I wonder if my laptop could run Infiniti with the graphics options and such turned down. I really have no idea, though.

That is a really cool movie. Sandler should have tried doing more serieous stuff.  Wish I help you with that but my track record with puting and playing games on a pc is pretty bad, lol.

I played it recently and I was surprised at how similar it was to Bioshock 1 in the basic mechanics - not including the sky-hook stuff of course (which I didn't use for combat at all). I was surprised also by how the world is not all that interactive. In a way it's a blessing because then I didn't have to click on every damn thing to look for stuff.

From what I read the same team who made the first game made Infinite. A different team worked on Bioshock 2. There is still a lot of things to raid for ammo, health, and such. And I have savagely whacked many a bad guy with the skyhook, that thing rules.

I was about to do a second playthrough when I got distracted by other things. I had the feeling I had a lot more to learn about the game. It's going to be fun to go back to it.

One of the best stories in gaming. As a game though... It's average. The shooting sucks and the vigors don't add a lot. Plus they took out things like security systems and being able to use all weapons at the same time, elements that diverted from the original bioshock's meh gunplay.

I love the story, and it's messages, but I feel like the gameplay kind of goes against it and serves to undo what the story is trying to convey. Games are an interactive medium, and the interactive parts should reflect the tone and message of the story IMO.

After spending so much time playing Borderlands 2, limiting how many guns you can pack is a nice challenge although I wish you could at least hang onto 4 weapons instead of just 2. You can still technically hack gun turrest an even human enemies, but yeah its not as central to gameplay as it was in the previous games.

With Blake all the way. Still think it's a great game, but the gameplay could have used some more work.

I loved Bioshock Infinite, as did my Wife. We both were fighting to play it next.

I will say that I loved the combat so much more than the original Bioshock.  I think that the plasmids were better than vigors, but the gunplay is so much better.

Yeah, I thought the gunplay was pretty good, a lot more realistic in terms of how distance effects accuracy. But my expirience with the first two games isvlimited so its hard for me to make fair comparison.
