AquaPazza Looks Pretty Cool

Is it just me, or does this year seem to be flooded with anime-style games that may have never gotten released over here in previous years? Notably, we got Ni no Kuni earlier this year. Given how successful that one was it seems like a no brainer, but I believe it took them over year after its unveiling to be announced for North America. We also have the recently released Time and Eternity and Project X Zone. It’s like the Western market has been so receptive to Japanese games they didn’t even need to translate Ni no Kuni’s title!

Now Atlus recently announced another awkwardly-titled game from the Rising Sun: ‘AquaPazza: Aquaplus Dream Match’ for the PS3. As you might guess, this is a fighting game that pits characters from the Aquaplus videogames against each other. I don’t think any of these games have been released over here, though there are several anime adaptations. It looks pretty crazy based on what I’ve seen. One character attacks with a mop, one with a bicycle, and another seems to attack with the power of singing!

The best part is the game will only be $30. Looks like any chances of me ‘waiting for reviews’ is basically thrown out the window! Not sure if anyone else is interested but I’m excited so I had to post a blog about it!

I'm so stoked over this game and another one called Chaos code being published by Arc Systems Works. I like interesting 2D fighters and this one looks really good. Gamespot had a good import preview over the game last year that worth checking out if you have the time.

Chaos Code looks good too. I don't like the artstyle as much as AquaPazza and it doesn't seem to be the same level of craziness either. But for a $12 digital download, it definitely sounds like something to look forward to!

Aquapazza almost sounds like an Italian food lol.

"What will you have for an appetizer?"

"Hmm, the fresh aquapazza salad sounds good."

It looks really neat, I may get it if I have the money to spare.

Yeah, even at $30 there are still a lot of other things to buy!

Looks like a cute version of Guilty Gear.

Never played Guilty Gear myself, but you are probably dead-right there.

Me too. Obviously one of my main selling points.

Kinda reminds me of Arcana Hearts and I was miffed when Arcana Hearts 3 came to the PS3 but not the 360. However, I can also understand "why". As a whole the PS3 caters to the tastes of a more diverse demographic.

Yeah, it's a shame this is not on 360 as well. Of course, I can see why Japan of all countries does not put some of its games on 360 based on its performance over there.

Yeah, the 360 in Japan kinda flopped. lol.
