Disney Infinity Update, Randoms, and New Android Game!

Hello Pixlbit! In my last blog, I mention that Disney Infinity for the Playstation 3 had problems connecting to the Internet because well, the patch would corrupt the game save. There was an option to play offline, which was fine, but I felt it was missing something especially with the other versions working fine. Well last night there was a new patch, and this patch was able to fix the problem, and I was able to finally connect my game. I don’t know what happened but I was level 5 with Mr. Incredible, but I guess at some point I restarted, or the game restarted my count, and I am now just hitting level 4. Not really a big deal, but oh well.

Since I’ve been finally able to connect my PS3, I got some stats. Nothing big considering I’ve played the game for around 2 hours. I’m really enjoying this game, even if the tasks are easy. This would be a fun family game.

I decided to go back to Toys R Us again and take advantage of the Buy 1 Get 1 50% off on everything Disney Infinity. I went with completing the Incredibles because this was the set I wanted to complete first. I don’t really care for Monsters Inc, and I’ll probably get the Pirates characters at the end of the week when I go back to Toys R Us. Hopefully they’ll have the “uber special” Clear Lightning McQueen.

I don’t think I’m going to try and collect every set for this game. I’ll probably pick up Cars, but I have no desire to play the Lone Ranger set. Funny thing about it, is that it’s $18 right now at Target. Even at that price I really don’t want to play it.

Well like a handful of folks here, yesterday I watched the stream of the Sony Press Conference from Gamescom

It was interesting to see what kind of new deals Europe was getting, along with any other new games. It would be nice to get the PS Vita MegaPacks in the US. I did like the news that the Vita will be able to Remote Play many games on the PS4. Yeah that’s pretty vague on what kind of games (downloadables, Indie, PSN, Blockbusters, etc), and Remote Play should have been a built in option in every PS3 game, as well as the PS4. It was an interesting watch, and the new Assassin’s looks good.

*Random Tangent: For you PS+ owners, do you find yourself looking at a game, and then saying “I’ll wait because it will hit +?” I seem to be doing this more and more. Last week, I was looking at the Pinball tables and the Star Wars one looked really fun, but I didn’t know if I wanted to spend I think $10 on it. Guess what the freebie for this week is?

Yup, and with the hype over the next Saints Row, I see myself saying the same thing. I know it will probably take a year but I’m fine with that. I have a bunch of games to keep me busy.

I do like the direction Playstation is taking with the PS4, but I still don’t see myself as jumping on at launch. I’ll still wait a bit. There still isn’t that big game that I really want to play. If GTA V was launching with the PS4, I’d be all over it, but for now, I’m good with waiting a month or two.

I held off posting this blog yesterday because one my favorite racing series released their next installment

I started to play the Asphalt games around A3, but didn’t really get into it until 7. 7 was a lot of fun because I thought it was a console quality game on Android, and I spent a good chunk of time playing it over the Angry Birds, and Temple Run games.

The main menu has a new look with the tile screen, which is similar to NCAA Football 14. I haven’t tried any of the other features other than the Season 1 Welcome where I bought the Audi, and one Career mode race. For the first time I decided to sync my game with my Google+ account (I never use G+).

When you get past the tile screen things look a lot similar to previous games. I do like the info screen, that gives you all your stats from the game.

The race info screen looks almost the same but with an updated layout

If you like achievements, they’re in this game.

The post race info screens are nice including the breakdown of where you earned in game credits.

I really can’t give a love it/hate it grade after two quick races, but what I can comment on is that it feels like the drifting isn’t as loose as the previous game, and I am happy to be racing on new courses (Asphalt 7 and Asphalt Injection on the Vita share the same courses). I’m thinking about doing a comparison between this game and the game on the Vita.

Another game on Android I gave a try was

Growing up I wasn’t a big Muppets fan. I thought they were annoying, and stuck to GI Joe. I wanted to try this game however because it sounded a lot like Simpsons Tapped Out where you can buy members of the band, placed them on the screen and let them do their thing.

I played through the tutorial, and maybe spent an additional 5-10 minutes playing. I have to say it really didn’t keep my attention, and I soon got bored and stopped playing. Muppets would have most likely had more playtime if I had that built in love for them, which does not exist. If you enjoy the Muppets, give this game a try. It’s free.

As for your weekly Simpsons update I unlocked the new characters for Level 33

Hopefully my Star Rating can go back to 5 full stars because of the new police characters roaming Springfield.

The animation for Arnie Pye is funny, and I do like the rivalry that Arnie and Kent have in the game.

There needs to be more Comic Book Guy in Tapped Out!

Started Dynasty Year 3 in NCAA Football

Apparently my running back has become a bowling ball because quite a few players seem to bounce off of him. I also keep losing Defensive Coordinators to head coaching jobs, yet my Offensive Coordinator stays put. I’d like to see the coaching staff stay together for at least two seasons. Also the new DC I think is computer generated because he showed up with a zero rating, yet had a ton of skill points to that jumped him up to a 9 rating, which is the same as my OC who’s been in the system for 3 years.

So anyone else tryout the Killzone Beta? I remember playing the multiplayer beta on the PSP (remember when being in the Gamer Advisory Panel meant you got demo PS2 discs/UMDs in the mail?). Well I played a little bit of this, and mind you I’m not very good at these games, but damn those are some terrible numbers.

During my CD hunting at the local thrifts, I stumbled upon this

A couple of years ago I used to find all kinds of classic plastic for cheap, but I think the new collectors err eBay’ers/Swap Meet vendors think all these games should go for at least $10 and up have been buying up whatever hits the thrifts. This was hidden behind some costume jewelry in the glass counter, and I picked it up for $4 bucks. It was a little high for me, but I didn’t have it in the collection so why not.

When checking out the employee and I were talking about how awesome the NES was because we had the same type of memories of going to a friend’s house, playing a stack of games, and trying to do speed runs on SMB.

My other purchases from that Thrift and the local Walmart when I was looking for Infinity stuff. I’ve been on a soundtrack kick for the past week or two, and I’m pretty sure these are the original releases. Brittney because I’m now one album away from completing her studio album discography (I need to justify spending $15 on Femme Fetal now).

Well that’s all for now, more later!...and back to Asphalt 8

how was the killzone beta man?  I'm thinking of getting a Vita in the next couple months maybe.

I didn't know about that muppet game.  That's awesome.  I read about that Asphault game though.  I might have to check it out.

I used to love Wizards and Warriors when I was a kid.  Not really a great game though.

I haven't played much but from what I've seen it's nice. From what I've seen in the beta there is a good number of customization options, and the 4 on 4 is fun because its fast paced.

If you're a Muppet's fan its worth a try. I like Asphalt, and for .99 cents, I can't complain.

Haha I figured it wouldn't be very good but I'm a sucker for classic plastic especially if it's resonably priced.

The Infinity action figures look pretty cool.

I like the figures. They are solid and nothing feels flimsy about them. It would be nice if they were cheaper
