Okay, here is a sample of my Star Wars Fanfic I am working on. I am not the greatest writer or maybe even marginal but, I do love to read. This is completely rough and may seem scattered so please be nice.

The Holocron
Eslem Near the outer rim is a hot planet, Having two suns and a larger than average Moon, made it barely habitable. Some how those sensitive to the force were not affected by the drastic changes in the gravity between day and night. The heat now that took some getting use to. The Planet was picked to be the second site for a Jedi Counsel. The first rebuilt on Coruscant after the fall of the Yuuzhan Vong Empire. The counsel felt that having all Masters in one place was too Dangerous considering the rumors of a new Sith Lord. Mere rumors were not enough for Master Grane to worry but he must do as the force has guided him and the counsel.
Standing in the steamy room that is the new Jedi Counsel Chambers on Eslem. The room made Jaso feel like he was in a Steam bath on Tatooine. He awaited word from Master Skywalker back on Coruscant. With a snap, the image of Master Skywalker appeared on the holoprojector.
“ My old friend I see you are well.” “How is the progress on Eslem coming?” Asked Master Skywalker. Jaso paused for a moment then began.
“Master Skywalker I feel that my time here is coming to an end.” “ There is something I must do, At your approval of-course.”
Master Skywalker sensed confusion in his old friend. “Jaso, What troubles you?” Jaso, like his master before him gave Skywalker the best and most honest answer he could give him.
“ I must finish my Masters work.”
cool, man. It's interesting to me what time periods people pick to write their starwars fanfiction. My brother writes stuff during the Clone Wars and puts it up on Fanfiction.com and gets hundreds and hundreds of views. He's a bit of a workaholic when it comes to writing fanfiction.

it's a classic book on writing style, and it explains a lot of rules and nuances. It's very helpful.
Thanks Matt. I only have the scribner handbook to go by for some things. This will help me out.
I chose a 25 to 30 year period after ROTJ. I also have to do some research about 2000 years back for certain objects in the story. So I guess it is really a mix of several eras.
my starwars fanfiction takes place thousands of years in the future, after the battle of Yavin, so I've got a lot of freedom to change things around. For instance, there are no more "Jedi" or "Sith", but the Republic is guarded by Five Houses or Clans of neutral force users.
I like the story, and I wish I could focus to write some more of it. It's fun.
Cool. I kinda like the rebuilding years myself. I would love to check out your stories.
sometime I'll post them. I'm in the process of cleaning it up right now.
Good luck on your project Larry. I tried to write a short story at one point. It was too much work, and damn I'm so lazy lol.
