Breaking Bad is The Greatest Show EVER!!!

Fuck The Wire. Fuck Game of Thrones. Fuck The Sopranos. Fuck any other show at me because you are wrong. The episode I just watched proved it. I was shaking afterwards! That episode was fucking poetry!

Ok, I'm going to back up. If you aren't watching breaking bad, start now. It has some of the best writing, acting, and directing I've seen in anything EVER! Seriously, just watch. The show isn't afraid to be brutal, dark, awkward, or to take it's time. It takes the slow burn, and moments that other shows would gloss over, this show will make an entire episode out of, and it will engage you as much as an episode with firefights and gunshots. Also, this show makes you feel the weight of EVERY DEATH! A death in this show is a monumental moment that has build up, and will destroy the balance of the show.

The show is also fucking hilarious when it needs to be. The humour in this show is pitch black, but I'll be damned if it isn't funny. The second episode showcases this perfectly:

Though unfortunately some dickhead put music over the scene and ruined it. Oh well.

The big thing about Breaking Bad is how the main character evolves. He starts out as a good guy and eventually becomes one of the more evil characters on tv... AND YOU STILL FUCKING SYMPATHISE WITH HIM! This show is SO morally ambiguous, and just... It's thrilling. It's fun. It's dark. It will make you feel more emotions in a single scene than you will in most entire shows.

 Just watch breaking bad already!

I really need to watch this show. Then maybe I can agree with your assessment. Not saying I disagree mind you.

I think you'll love it. Watch until season 2 though, because that's when it truly becomes amazing.

Can't wait until Sunday!!

I agree, it's a great show and definitely one of the best ever, in my opinion.  So far the second half of the final season has been better than ever.  I still have no clue how it will end. *very, very minor spoiler* I'm hoping for some kind of redemption for Jessie, but so far it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

*Very Major Spoiler* I hope Jesse Kills the fuck out of Walt.

*Spoiler*

Walt kills Skyler
Fingers crossed.

I hate her, lol

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/28/2013 at 09:08 AM

NO! I like Skylar. Seriously, Walt's actions threatened her entire family, she acted the way any sane person would. She never tried to stop him either, she just tried to look out for her own.

Chris Yarger Community Manager

08/28/2013 at 09:11 AM

Walt's actions were initially purposed to supply for his family once he passed away. Once he saw how much money he had, he quit. I gotta roll with Walt on this one.

Also; I'm predicting Walt lives in the end. Everything thinks he's going to die in the end, but I bet he'll find a way to survive and shock the audience.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/28/2013 at 09:15 AM

Yeah, initially. He's fucking evil now. Also, while he had good intentions, he still killed people. He still lied and he still put their family in danger. So Skylar has every right to act the way she did.

lol

08/28/2013 at 09:26 AM

I've got to agree with Skyler being in the right. She can get annoying, because like this blog states, although Walt has become evil, we still sympathise with him and therefore don't like when people get in his way.  But damn, he's put her through hell and has risked the lives of everyone in his family (not to mention all those dead because of him). All because of what has become of very selfish reason, his own ego.

Given the same situation, most wives would react much worse than Skyler has.  I think she gets way too much hate.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/28/2013 at 09:38 AM

Damn right. And weren't they divorced when she fucked ted anyway? Or at least separated? Walt has put her through so much shit. If I were Skylar, I would have killed Walt a long fucking time ago.

Bilbasaur

08/28/2013 at 10:47 AM

Honestly, I kinda think Skylar might poison Walt in the end, to protect her and her kids.

And i'm totally on her side. She should've gotten the legal separation and divorce, change the locks on the doors and all that cal. Walt is freaking dangerous.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/28/2013 at 11:13 AM

Bilby... You haven't watched the latest three episodes. That's not going to happen lol.

Bilbasaur

08/28/2013 at 09:00 AM

I really just hope that Jesse ends up okay in the end lol... I know it won't happen though.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/28/2013 at 09:09 AM

Yeah... I doubt it will too :,( although he was supposed to die in the first season and only survived so long because of Aaron's acting lol.

Bilbasaur

08/28/2013 at 10:02 AM

Which I am insanely thankful of lol. But I'm going to hope he at least doesn't die. It won't end happily, but please let Jesse live lol.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

Walt is smarter than jesse. It won't end well unless he helps hank.

I should probably start watching this show...  I am uncertain as to why I have not...  aside from being an idiot.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

Yeah, it's one of those shows that has a silly sounding premise but ends up being amazing!

I could write a blog about f breaking bad!!!

This show, is boring,,Yes I said it..it is..I do not care at all for the main dude...Matter of fact..I think I have more intrest on the rumors saying he may become the next lex luthor..Huh..Yeah I can see that!!

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/28/2013 at 01:49 PM

How the fuck is this show boring?

True Gamer At Heart

08/28/2013 at 01:56 PM

It drags on..First episode wa boring..Watched 2 and 3..Then i was like guess it aint going to get any better. Stock chracters, bad acting, lines are chessy...Do not get me wrong I like cheesy..Matter of face I need to watch Sharknado..But this show is not meant to be cheesy but some of the lines they say yea cheesy!!!

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/28/2013 at 02:55 PM

Dude. I don't think you've watched this show. How are the lines cheesy? How are the characters stock? The show is about growth, the first two episodes are NOTHING on what the show is later. A) It gets better every season. B) Even the first 3 eps weren't boring? The first three episodes are about killing people, disposing of bodies and building an empire. If you think that's boring, you must have severe ADHD.

This show has THE best acting on television. Wtf are you comparing the acting to? Jesse may sound cliche'd at first but that's more him trying to appear tough than anything. Watch the show again, and when you can back up what you're saying, then we'll talk.

Also, may I ask what shows you actually do like?

True Gamer At Heart

08/28/2013 at 04:11 PM

So you never heard of a guy killing people to build empire before..huh Yeah never heard about that before..Then I guess I got adhd then..Even thou I doubt it..I have friends who have adhd..

I have watched the show honestly about half way thru season 1 and no it it just not for me i guess..

Shows I watch..I know what you are doing..I will name a show then you will be like that show!!! That show sucks so bad!!

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/28/2013 at 04:40 PM

No. Sorry I came off as harsher than I meant but some of the complaints you levelled at the show dumbfounded me. If you like a show I consider good, I'll admit it.

Breaking Bad goes for a slow burn to build tension. I understand if that's not your thing, but I really don't understand the stock characters or cheesy acting points, especially when every critic points to the acting and characterisation of this show and how incredibly deep it actually is.

bullet656

08/28/2013 at 03:01 PM

I can understand how someone could find the show boring, I guess (although I far from agree).  Not everyone is in to this type of drama.  But I'm curious about the stock character line too. I don't know how anyone who has watched the show can make that claim.

I've gotten my dad and me mum addcited to it, so now I feel like I cant be a fan of it lol. This has actually happened with a bunch of shows like Lost, Desperate Housewives (surprisingly my dad was into that more than my mom) and with my sister, Sherlock.

Lol I'm trying to get my nan addicted to it. She loves Game of Thrones and Walking Dead, so I think she'd love this.

A chemistry teacher is diagnosed with lung cancer has a year to live. To make sure he leaves money for his family he turns to meth, but his ego takes him to some fucking dark places. It's just plain awesome.

Machocruz

If they stick the landing, this will be my favorite show by a wide margin. I mean, it already is my favorite currently running show, but The Wire and Mad Men are still in the running for All Time honors.

As far as Skylar, she's been tightly wound from the first episode. Like someone else said in response to "why is Skylar annoying?:

"She doesn’t do anything fun? Seriously, what does she do for fun? Hank collects minerals. Marie ‘shops’. Skyler has no life."

She's been a bit condescending and uppity from the first episode. Doesn't make me hate her, but I think this is intentional, and annoying, and the situation she was put it in only exascerbated things. (Like Hudson in Aliens starts off a wiseass ball-buster, and becomes even more jerky when shit goes bad). No one is an angel on this show.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/28/2013 at 08:15 PM

Judging by how this season's been going, it'll stick the landing. I mean even if it's an ending we don't like, it won't be because of execution, but because of how devestating it could be.

And I don't have a problem with people finding Skylar annoying, but the constant hatred of her and the things she does? It's kind of unjustified.

Anyway, I should get into Mad Men. The premise just doesn't make me want to watch it. Loved The Wire though... But yeah, my list goes: Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Wire, and Battlestar Galactica. Also, we are in the golden age of television right now.

Machocruz

08/28/2013 at 08:39 PM

I thought the same thing about Mad Men - "Ad agency in the 60s? Who the hell cares about that? Sounds like stuffy old white man stuff!" But now it's one of my favorite shows of all time. It's like crack to me.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/29/2013 at 11:22 AM

May I ask why you like it? A few people are trying to get me to watch it but they haven't sold it to me yet.

Machocruz

08/29/2013 at 12:04 PM

I like it because it feels like an authentic glimpse into a time period on the verge of, and later, rife with change. You see a new American society develop, and how people of various social standings adapt or don't adapt to these changes.

Because the performances and script are stellar.

Because the main principles feel like complete characters while being archetypes of the time period.

Because the photography and art direction are near perfect.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/29/2013 at 12:18 PM

Awesome. That all sounds really cool, but waht is engaging? Is it the plot? Is it the characters? Or is it both? I mean I feel like there always has to be momentum in a show for me to be interested. Whether it's characters developing, or whether it's plot moving on. What is it that hooks people to the show,

Machocruz

08/29/2013 at 01:03 PM

Like I said, insight into the time period is probably a big hook. And when you get past that, you find character development is complex and consistent, story threads that pay off in big ways. Humor, drama, unpredictability. Stylish. Good music choices at the right moments. It's honest about the issues it deals with.

It's enaging because it's really high quality and intelligent in every way a show can be. Really can't put it any other way.

You've sold me. That shall be my next show :)

Breaking Bad is great. Certainly some of the best writing. if not the best, ever in a TV show. I wouldn't call it one of my favorites though because I can't be a geek with this show. It has to be sci-fi or fantasy or something for me lol I'm weird.

Nothing I watch will ever beat The Simpsons in my book. But it's already got South Park and Community beat and is really close from overtaking Spectacular Spiderman as my second favorite show.

Blake Turner Staff Writer

08/29/2013 at 07:54 AM

I put it far over the simpsons, but I've watched the simpsons so much I can't do it anymore. It's number one and I'd say Game of Thrones is second, and then maybe Parks and Rec?
