The Article

I saw this pop up on my Twitter feed, and I thought you guys/gals would be interested. Personally I like the concept, but if I were to buy a Nintendo Handheld, it'll probably be the 3DS XL. Have a good one Pixlbit

That's all for now, more later!

At 129 it will probably sell like crazy.  In fact, I almost find it tempting for my godson...  The only problem is that I know that it will cause problems in that household if I get it for him.

yeah, I feel the same way about buying stuff for my nephews....  Laughing

well, that wasn't what I was planning on doing...  anyway, with the way my brother's kids seem to fight over an ipad, I shuuder to think of what would happen to a dedicated gaming machine.

That was my first thought, but I know these handhelds are gonna fly off the shelves.

May be the only way I go with a new portable. I can't see 3D effects due to poor depth perception anyway, so this is kinda right up my alley.

It's not a bad handheld, and I'm no fan of the 3D.

It might not look the best but this is a great idea. If I didnt already have my 3ds xl I would prolly buy this. I never use my 3d feature so it would work for me. Stil gonna keep my 3ds though,I Iike it good enough, lol.

I agree, doesn't look great but it does the job, and the price point is real nice. I can see a casual gamer picking one of these up, or a parent who wants to save some money.

I just bought a 3DS xl.  Surprisingly, I'm like it the way it is more than I thought.  I got it on sale and I used other means to take money off, so I'm happy with what I paid for it.  I don't use the 3D function much, but it's still cool to have.

Can't go wrong with getting a pretty good handheld with a great price. I think what's holding me back from getting one of these is how it looks. I like the clamshell of the 3DS XL, but if I play with one of these in a store, I might change my stance.

Does that thing fold up? It doesn't look like it.

It doesn't fold at all. It's as flat as flatbread.

N is pretty smart actually. The reduced the cost of WiiU by $50 and introducing this cheaper 3DS specifically made for kids. Tied together with a new awesome Pokemon game and parents comparing PS4 and XBox gaming things compared to this, it will be tempting for parents. I quite like it actually, I'd buy it if I didn't already own one. It looks like a neat toy.

Nintendo did the right thing especially after the announcements of the next gen consoles and the price drop of the Vita. I wonder if their will be any Pokemon 2DS Bundles?

The $130 price point on a budget 3DS... or 2DS, is really smart. It makes it an easy choice as a gift for a child especially if as a parent you're concerned about 3D, which I wouldn't be too concerned about, but some are.

It is. The drop in price, with the one solid body, I think it's perfect for parents who are looking at getting their kids a handheld. Like I said in a previous reply, I like the concept of this handheld, but I'm not a fan of the design. I might change my mind if I check it out in stores.

Releasing this right before Pokemon is just fucking brilliant. Every kid will either have or want one of these.

Yup, this is perfect timing, and I can see these handhelds flying off the shelves.

Are you sure that's really it? That looks a lot like what the DS was supposed to look like before everyone complained of its ugliness and they changed it to look a bit sleeker at launch.
