The unfortunate thing about FFXIV, is that SE and the ARR producer have been very candid and responsive to the community in dealing with issues, posting updates and info about all the issues during all the beta phases. Even though there were issues, SE would inform the public about what was going on. MMO launches have almost always gone bad, so there was a feeling that the same would happen here. However, after the Early Access weekend and luanch lockouts SE went dark and put up very vague updates about issues. It could be that they really didn't know what the issues were so they couldn't update, but the lock outs were done on purpose while SE tested the game while players were live on the servers, a bit of a beta test situation. Anyhow, the game itself is fun and cool and the issues with the game right now are due to inability to access the game as opposed to the game is broken or something.
I need to get into Borderlands 2 for real!
My 2 1/2 cents on FF14 & Borderlands 2

So I just wanted to first say that I was angry at how Square handled the release of FF14, but this holds no bearing in how I feel about the game itself. This is my first time playing an MMO and the fact that it is in the FF universe is just too cool. Since getting in I have been really enjoying it quit a bit. So I hope those who were put off by the initial problems at release don't completely write this game off. Square Enix has not sat idle to correct the situation. They are currently adding new server worlds to the Europe/ North America region. I'd say give it a month and this game will be where it needs to be.
In other news Gearbox has an online event happening in Borderlands 2 right now to celebrate the upcoming Ultimate Badass 2 add on. If you play online from now untill Sept. 2 your chances of finding rare and legendary shields is going to be dramaticaly better. The hot spots in particular to check are chests, especaily out of the way ones. And of course the Ultimate Badass add on drops Sept. 2 and will bump the lv cap to 72, increase the ammo, backpack, and vault capacities. And last but not least there is the Digistruct Mountain campaign. This is going to be a large circle of slaughter type arena area where once you reach lv 72 you will be able to fight over powered enemies up to lv 80. But what make this special is these enemies can drop lv 80 gear which your lv 72 character will be able to use. Lv 80 Legendaries!
Well thats all I got for today. Thanks for reading, Laters.
