How many times are they going to resale The Legend Of Zelda, SMB, Metroid, etc? If you truely want these games, then go to your local Retro video game store and pick up a NES and the game, most store have them in stock. I want something fucking new Nintendo! NEW NEW NEW! Stop rehashing shit, I am one gamer that is sick of it!

Brought to you by:  The Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

If Nintendo would just have that cross-buy feature then they would not have to treat the re-release of The Legend of Zelda on the Wii U like they did when they re-released it on the 3DS and the Wii.  Then they could focus on re-releasing a larger portion of their catalog.   It is nice having the big NES releases on a portable and a home console, but why do we have to buy them 2 or 3 times if we want them on both systems?

If this is what you were ranting about, I completely agree.

Partially yes. In whole I want them to stop re-re-releasing these games over and over. I want a new game that will make me say damn I need that system Nintendo! I have all those games on the original systems and on my 3DS because I am an Ambassador. They have them on DS collections, GBA collections. I am just sick of it really.

I cannot think of a single game that is telling me to buy a Wii U right now.  I would not mind the Super Mario 3D world and Mario Kart, but they are not system sellers.

Looking at the 3DS launch, unless I am mistaken 2 of the games that were reasons to get a 3DS early on were remakes of N64 games.  Why didn't Nintendo just make sequels to Ocarina of Time and Star Fox?  Why couldn't they just make a sequel to DKCR for the 3DS instead of just porting the original over?

The GBA was released with a port of SMB2.  Why didn't they just make a new one right off the bat, instead of porting over 4 more classic Mario games?

I wanted it just for the technology. Yes I did buy OoT 3D, but then felt very disappointed by that purchase. What about a new Mario Strikers?

They are also kind of doing this with their hardware. They are releasing another version of the DS called the 2DS. It will play DS & 3DS games without the 3D effect. They want to offer a cheaper alternative since it will sell for $129 vs $169 & $199. But to me it comes off like they are losing confidence in the whole 3D angle. Then again for people buying christmas for their kids that chunk of change can make all the difference. Although I think most kids who get one of these is going to feel cheated.

SMH. That is about it.lol.

You have to remember, not all kids can use the 3d. They encourge only 7 and up to have it on and dont forget adults will buy this. I do not care one bit for 3d. If I didnt have my current 3ds I would buy the 2ds. This is an option for people who do not want 3d or kids who shouldnt have it. It isnt that bad of an idea. The design might look bleh but its a solid idea if  you think of it that way.

Yeah, just saw the picture looks like a big step backward to me. The clamshell design they started using way back with the GBA SD was really smart. Makes it more compact and protects the screen. I think they are really screwing up.

You can turn off the the 3D on the 3DS. It has a Parental feature that allows it.

Well maybe they will sell the rights to Sega and it can be released on a Sega system that will never come. So I say next to never.

Yeah being forced to use the stylus to play pretty much ruined Spirit Tracks for me. I kind of liked Skyward Sword, but then again I have yet to finish it. I say save that stuff for an original IP and stick to the formula that made the game popular in the first place.

That is one reason it took me so long to finish Phantom hourglass.

but, but, but...I don't want a retro machine. It looks like crap when it's hooked up to my uber fancy, top of the line, high tech, heavy duty, energy saving, app functing, youtube/netflix ready, high-def LED/Plasma/OLED/3D TV....

Plus it totally doesn't clashes with my current systems.....

I personally like that there releasing old titles on the new hardware. Some of them are difficult to find to begin with to buy. It all of course changes person to person.

I have three stores where I live I can get all the Zelda game no more than 30 bucks a piece.

If you're talking about remakes, I can see why it can be bothersome, but I think as long as there's also new stuff or continuations of games that have been released years ago (like Pikmin 3 recently), i'm fine with it, and it also brings me to my point that some of the old games, while avaiable, can either be expesive (together with the old consoles) or it's simply because people don't want to get the old consoles, so a remake can make them experience an old game (albeit, retooled for modern standards).

If you're talking about re-releases, go to my console and game argument above. Not everyone can pay for an old console, so I think re-releases are fine.

I am mostly talking about what would bring me to the Wii U. I am getting tired of the remakes though.

But making HD games is so hard (dripping with sarcasm).

I bet some people would shut up if they did a HD remake of E.T. LOL.

KnightDriver

Did you hear someone is doing a documentary about the dumping of all those E.T. carts in the desert? Here's the link: http://techland.time.com/2013/06/03/ataris-e-t-the-extra-terrestrial-may-finally-rise-from-the-pit/

That is going to be one hell of a excavation.

Apparently there are systems and other games dumped there as well.

Yes, I saw that. I want a Atari 400. The Retro game shop near me has one in the box, but it is missing the power cord and do not want to sell it because of that.

They can't even get the re-release right. My 3DS is two years old now and they have not released any snes games as of yet. I love my nes adventures but seriously theres a reason games of that age don't hold your attention for long so why focus solely on them and original GB games...... doesn't make any sense to me. The 2DS looks interesting, I think it's much more for securing the market rather than invest in something new, I just hope by marketing to seven year olds their games market doesn't go the way of the wii and loads of crap is released.

They need to focus on bringing the JRPGs from Japan that they promised. New stuff we have never seen here. I feel like I am standing alone in this...

I'm with you.  Nintendo doesn't even try to update them.  I be damned if I'm buying those games again.  I already own them multiple times.  It's time for Nintendo to let them go.  If people want to play them then I'd suggest to download them and an emulator.  It's bullshit to charge $5+ for games 30yrs old.  I guess if people want to buy them, then they deserved to be ripped off.

Some people are  just falling for it hard. I am not trying be big ass about it. I am trying get people to wake up. If you are like me you have them in all forms from 20 to 30 years ago. I agree with you too. Sometimes people love being separated from their money.
