As if EA can still be messing up they anounced that there take on single player games are a thing of the past apparently after GTA 5 there will be no more singleplayer games from EA it will be online only games and I quote they said after the success of sim city lol yea right can they be serious the Sim City release was a nightmare but all the same there sticking to online only.
Because Sim City 2013 proved always online games were a stunning success...
Really, I wouldn't pay too much attention to EA or anyone who makes grand claims like that. We're on the cuff of a new generation which means people go out of their way to wax on about the future... with most of their predictions wrong or if the do come true, vastly different from their original intent.
I highly doubt there going online only but if they are GTA 5 wont be the last offline game. The sims 4 will be offline as well as have a online part thats optonal. Reason being Sims City failed and they cant risk that with the Sims franchise that a lot of people love.
Clearly Microsoft was thinking that too, but had to backpedal. These companies want everything online so they can increase profits. No product to ship, monthly fees, quick online transactions, microtranactions, no more piracy, no used sales. It's win win for them, but clearly the public is not ready. They are going to try hard to convince us this is the way by slow seduction. It will probably work in the long run. I'm going to wake up one day and all my games will be useless unless I'm connected to the internet.

Theres no singleplayer only games, but these games can be played offline and in single player. It's just that singleplayer focused games will have multiplayer elements like Mass effect 3.
I don't plan to preorder anymore EA games. I'm pretty tired of them screwing me. I'll buy their games after I read a few reviews. I may even wait for price drops.
My thing is if there online only ea only supports there servers for 3 years after that they close then your stuck with a useless game.
I could see that happening.
