I know this isnt a gaming blog but video games are not my only hobby. I do love to read! Ive loved reading since I was a kid. I was the strange oddball at my school as a child because I loved the days we went to the library. This is gonna be a new blog set by me, I dont know how often Ill post this blog, depends on the time I get to read. Im still excited to do it though ^_^ I read both regular books and manga so expect both!

Today I review Kieli Vol 1!

Chapters: 3

Pages: 192

I went to half price on Thursday with my bf and I saw this in the manga section. It instantly captured my interest. I began reading it and my bf noticed I was so enthalled to it that he bought it for me. Let me say, I loved this first Vol. Kiele is a girl who can see ghost and talk to them. She has always felt like the strange girl around her boarding school and out of place. In fact she prefers the company of ghost to living people. She has a chance meeting with Harvey, a unique individual with that same ability as her except there is a lot more to how he has it then her. She doesnt know how or why she has this ability. Character wise, I love them. Harvey while the more serious and loner type of person he is still likeable and Kieli is just plan adorable and sweet. The story went smooth and progressed greatly through the 3 chapters. I never felt in the dark or lost, but I will say that you will probably guess what makes Harvey unique once you get pretty good into the first chapter. Not a bad thing nesscarly, just kind of  easily pointed out but it makes you wonder about Kieli as to how and why she has the ghost seeing ability. Anywho I def give this manga...

Story: Great and Well Written (So Far)

Characters: Likeable

Artwork: Amazing

Overall: Recommend Reading!

I was aiming not to touch any of my extra money I have after bills but I might just need to buy Vol 2....

I did my best to keep this spoiler free which I will aim to do for any review I do, whether Video game or Book/Manga. If you have read this and would like to talk about Vol 1 with me feel free to message me so this can stay spoiler free! Thank you for reading ^_^

PS: This is the manga adaption, there are novels which I plan to read and review as well!

i probably would have gotten into manga if I was younger...  it wasn't really a thing here in the states when I was a kid, like how now there's a whole section in Barnes and Noble, etc.  But I've always been intrigued by it.  I love comics.

Same here. I stare at them at half price books, get overwhelmed and leave.

Come one old fogeys, age is not an excuse. A bit overwhelmed by the amount, and also lack of variety? I would concur. That's why there are sites out there, like www.animenewsnetwork.com, that help you to a better extent. At the moment I get my fix via sites that have scanlations (scanned and translated manga chapters), but it's a great way to get to know about a bunch of great manga out there, and it helps me narrow down which ones I will eventually buy once they are available in North America.

I really think yall should give them just a tiny chance, you might find something you love to read from it. Id try the site Joaquim shared or buy a cheap one at half price.

I got into anime in the mid 90's which was my gateway into manga. There was a magazine I used to get called Animerica and it had old reprints of  Leiji Matsumoto's Galaxy Express 999 in every issue like a serial. Also since damn near every anime ever made started as a manga, I of course had to track down and read all of the source material, lol. Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Battle Angle Alita, Blade of the Immortal, Silent Mobius, Aria, Trigun, ect. Man if people think the mange section at B&N is intimidating they should see the shelves at the manga shops in Japan.

Its cool, like i said, its kind of one of those things that makes me an oddball around a  lot of people i talk to. Reading is one of those things that either your into or not. Cant force people to read, doesnt make it fun. Im glad your daughter is enjoying that book. Ill have message Picario about their book.
