Hello Pixlbit! Monday is here (BOOOOOO) but that just means we are one day closer to Friday (YAY!). So how was your weekend? Anything good happen? Any new games you played, and what to share? It was back to the usual for me, with the exception of one trip to the Home Depot to be all manly and talk about nails and wood. Actually it was more along the lines of the hallway light went out and when you want to go to the kitchen after watching Ghost Adventures, you can keep up with Usain Bolt. (That’s for you scared folks, as for myself I keep a lamp on close to the kitchen, so I can calmly walk like’s it no big thing).

So my weekend went like this: Lazy, GTA V, Football, Lazy, Lunch, Lazy, GTA V, Football, GTA V, TV. Rinse. Repeat. You want to see what I did during that time?

GTA V

Yeah a mission here and there but mainly tourist mode was in place

A certain theater in LA. It's probably a little famous

I found In-N-Out.

Oh those big water pipes bringing in Water from a certain valley

And I stumbled upon the Getty Museum.

*My first trip to the new Getty was the first and only time I really wanted to touch a painting. It was a Rubens.

As for actual story stuff, I think I’m almost done, I’m not rushing through the game, I just like to explore and see all the little hidden things. One of the spots in Los Santos has an image from Vice City, which was a nice “Hey I remember that” moment.

Lego Harry Potter on the Vita

I was playing a bit of this game. I was trying to get back into the swing of it, but I’ve lost interest in this storyline because I wasn’t big on Harry Potter. While playing through what I think was the boss battle, after he defeat, the game got stuck in this mode where it wouldn’t advance to the cut scene, and Harry just stood there. I figured it was a glitch, and I stopped playing. I can’t wait to buy the new Lego game in the franchise, partly because I pre-ordered it at Walmart, which means I should get Iron Patriot…unless Walmart forgets.

Treasures of Montezuma Blitz on the Vita

I won this past week’s tournament, with my highest score. I’m still in shock I scored that much.

Color Zen

I talked about this game a while back, and a couple of nights ago I woke up at some crazy early hour (3 or 4am) I couldn’t go back to sleep so I grabbed the iPad and started to play this game again.

I played almost two full levels before I went back to sleep.

When I was downloading the screen grabs from the iPad I noticed I had one more puzzle to play before I moved onto the next level

Yeah I can see why a drowsy Chris couldn’t figure this out. I actually played this puzzle and before moving on to the next round

I got an ad. Good thing this didn’t happen when I was half asleep or else I would have bought it thinking it was part of the next level. Color Zen is a good casual puzzle game.

FIFA 14/Madden 25 on Android

So after spending some time with FIFA, I decided that it just wasn’t for me. The swipe/touch controls just feel odd for me to enjoy it. I do like the on screen directional pad and buttons like I think PES had when I turned my Nook Color into an Android tablet. Because of the funky controls I also decided to not jump into Madden. I would have liked normal controls, but oh well, that’s just me.

While watching the Cowboys/Chargers game (thanks Monte for that tissue soft zone that made Antonio Gates look like the younger Pro Bowl version) I decided to jump in and change the look of my Nexus 7

My new lock screen. Something simple, just the time, and the unlocking circle

My one screen with the eight icons.

Top Row L to R: Play Store, Instagram, Feedly, and Flipboard.

Bottom Row L to R: Everyday Folder, Media Folder, Games Folder, Google Chrome

The Everyday Folder is home to all the stuff I use well everyday. I could probably slim this folder down a bit (the TMZ app is better on iPad. Hey don’t judge, everyone like celebrity gossip).

The Media Folder. All the audio and video apps. I really need to start using Hulu Plus again. I pay for the dang thing, I should enjoy it.

The Games Folder. This is another folder that could be slimmed down. There are a couple of games I don’t play, but we’ll save that for later.

I have some thoughts about some TV shows, but we’ll leave that to the Quick Hits blog.

Well that’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I spent the weekend at work watching The Boondocks photo the-boondocks-the-boondocks-506031_400_257_zps7fc7d572.jpg.

Watched all of season 1 and most of season 2 at work. Laughing

What was the Rubens painting you wanted to touch?

The painting is called The Entombment. It was one of my favorites from my old Art History Class, and it really didn't hit me that he stood in front of it 400 or so years ago, and painted this, until I stood right in front of it. Awesome piece!
