So I got the automatic download about 9 am yesterday and loaded it up and created a character with a hefty 12 generations of mom dad grandma granddad etc to base my characters looks on then it shows me in a plane arriving at Los Santos airport and young black thug picking me up at the airport saying hes got my back etc so I arrive at a race srarting point given a ride then the game loads up and thats it, no more, the game says looking for other players indefinitely so after some research it seems that gta online is another Simcity online launch a complete mess, and also reports of the online game corrupting your gta5 story mode as well, so everyone except a few are having major issues and for the life of me Rockstar knowing how many games they sold were not better prepared for the heavy load of servers needed for an online launch go figure.

online launches will never be good, there will always be some problem that pops up. I would give them a week before getting online at all so that any probs that come up you dont experiance.

that's too bad, but seems to the be the norm these days.  I'm sure it will clear up.

I'm not surprised. This has always happened with CoD, and they have similar number of players going online on the first day/week. 15+ Million GTA 5 copies sold, worldwide. Even if only 50% of those are people that will actually play it online, that's still a lot of a load for however amount of servers they have to handle. GTA 4 had online, and I don't remember reading about such issues. It's just too many people connecting in all at once.

I knew there would be issues just didn't think it would be this bad lol.

Yeah, that was bound to happen, honestly, given its popularity and what their servers can likely handle, as everyone is pointing out.

Dude chill. This is the most sold game ever. With all of those people trying to play at once there was bound to be issues. It's not like Rockstar is used to online games with numbers this huge. Hell, the only company that probably knows how they feel is Blizzard when WoW came out.

Every online experience like this starts poorly. It will get better though.

YEa I know its the biggest selling game release ever but damn they should have delayed the launch until they had it up running its not like they didn't know how many games they sold.

Yeah but think for a second. They can't really adjust and know how it will work until they test it. How are they supposed to work around it if they don't know what problems are being caused first?
