Hey Pixlbit! A couple of things that I encountered yesterday that I’d like to share my thoughts:

Simpsons Tapped Out

There is a new update for the game, and it coincides with the Season Premiere.

The update has a Halloween theme, where Springfield is haunted and unlike last year’s iOS only Halloween, this is for Android and it takes on some of the fun from Whacking Day. This time you take down ghosts, collect the goo, and “earn” prizes (if you are impatient, you can spend a bunch of donuts and unlock everything).

There are also a bunch of goodies, including a free item everyday like a building, or random things for your town, some new premium characters, and for you folks who need more space, more land!

NBA 2K14 On Amazon App Store

I knew games were starting to do this with certain games being on iOS or Android, but now it looks like even within the Android umbrella this is becoming popular. I don’t know if this is a good thing for mobile gaming, have exclusives that are in the same family but being sold in exclusive stores, but I guess that’s the nature of the business.

Humble Bundle

I had a pleasant surprise earlier today when I saw that there is new content in the Humble Bundle I bought last week. I’m really impressed with the approach that the Humble Bundle folks have taken. This is my first purchase, but it most likely won’t be my last

GTA Online

Like many, I am having trouble connecting. I understand why, and I’m okay with it. I find some of the Tweets about it hilarious. This morning around 6am (I have no idea why I woke up that early) I decided to give it a try. After one hour I got passed the blue circle, but then was stuck like this

I saw on one of my news feeds that it even made it to Forbes. You know what really bothers me about this whole situation is that Rockstar had how much time to plan/test their system for this, and it is still a mess. It’s terrible, because this was a big selling point for the game, and it has become a running joke.

Oh I found something much more worse than the lack of planning, it is the character creation. Seriously this thing is terrible. Select your grandparent’s color? You know what’s better than this? The skin selection on NCAA Football. You get light, medium, dark, and not some generic "let's play scientist, and try to make your color by changing your grandparents. Also this could have been thrown on the iPhone App, online before the game was released, or I don't know maybe in the offline game.

Alright I’m done ranting, hopefully it’ll be resolved and I can complain about 12 year olds dropping homophobic/sexist/racial slurs online, instead of why I can’t seem to connect to the server.

Heck yeah! Give Simpsons a try, it's fun, and you get hooked. If you do start playing, don't use real money!

Its like I told Lee, you can not expect anything online to be great in the first few days of launch. There is always problems no matter what,lol. I can understand completely ur fustration with it though, ive had this happen a select few times with games. Give it a few days to get sorted out and it wll prolly be up and running fine.

Yup, the first few days are chaotic, and you can see glimpses of it working...and then it nothing. I rarely play online, but this one is one I really want to try, but I can wait a couple of days to drive around and do everything I do offline, online.

Ah, online launches... They always seem like such fun. I've never actually experienced one though. I have my popcorn and the 3D glasses to watch all the rage on the big screen lol.

Haha, I'm usually in your spot, not really interested in online, and just watching people go nuts. This online got me interested to see if it's fun/annoying/interesting. I'll just "casually" (every night) check until it works. Twitter is good place to see some folks go completely insane about it

Well im with ya on the GTA5 online issues what kills me is they knew how many games they sold after the 17th so they shouldnt have made the oct 1st launch if they couldnt handle this many people you think they would have delayed the release so no biggey just have to wait lol!!

Right?! You would think they would have all the guts and behind the scenes stuff all ready to go. I like how they originally staggered the relase times, but eventually everything came crashing down. I'm not mad because I bought this game for offline, and online is just a bonus, but it would have been nice if it was somewhat working on relase day.

Oh well we'll have to wait a bit for stealing cars, and driving around Los Santos, with other wild folks...and foul mouth 12 year olds
