Blog a Day 4: My most focused blog of the week

Day 4. This is unprecedented and I suppose that I will have the same reaction tomorrow when I sit down and write something up. Since I have already posted a blog a day for the first three days of October I am going to try and write a blog a day. This may only end up lasting a week, but I will definitely try to make it to the end of the month. Probably the biggest reason that I would like to try this is because my thought process has been slowly clearing up as the days go by. There are two specific things that I wanted to go over today, and I will probably ramble onto a third or fourth item by the end of it.
I have been doing a little Christmas shopping already. I already know what my wife wants and I thought that I may as well order some stuff early. Along with what I ordered for her, I also picked up some stuff that I felt was a good or great deal. A 32 GB memory card for the Vita was only $45 at Best Buy and I had to jump on that. Also, classic Doctor Who has been on special throughout the year for the 50th anniversary and I thought that I would order a couple more stories. I have been working through the Black Guardian Trilogy and decided to get a couple more Peter Davison stories, Resurrection of the Daleks and The Ark of Infinity. Rayman Legumes on Vita dropped to $30 and so I grabbed that because I have been working on Oranges and have been wanting a portable platformer. I did recently get PS+ just for the Vita games. Not to waste the opportunity, I made sure that my brother logged onto my account on his PS3 and add the games to my download list. I want to be prepared in case I actually replace my old PS3.
I have decided to sit down and try to speedrun through Metroid Fusion. I am not going to try and beat the best time out there, 48 minutes, but I would like to challenge myself and see how quickly I can do it. I practically know the game by heart and the moment I step back into Samus' shoes I can remember nearly everything about the game. If I put on the song "Blue and Yellow" by the used, I am sure that I can remember the rest. I listened to that song throughout my first couple of times through the game so I am sure that it will stimulate some long dormant memories. The time that I am going to try for is going to be 75 minutes, but I fully expect it to take a couple of playthroughs, but I think that I can do it.
I am going to leave it there and will hopefully be back tomorrow.

Why February?  I wasn't necessarily planning on it, it just seems to happen.

As I said at some point in the past, I saw it on RockPaperShotgun and it stuck.  I no longer see origin(s), I see Orange(s).  Same with Legends and Legumes.

February is "BaD", or "Blog a Day", an old 1up tradition where we blog once daily.

that's certainly cheap for a 32 gig Vita card!

I will definitely keep that in mind when February rolls around.  I do not actually expect to make it all the way through October, but if I am inspired I will keep going.

Sorry for the confusion. When you said you were writing a Blog a Day I automatically thought of BaD, Hopefully we can continue it here.

My wife & I did a little holiday shopping for the kids last week.  The worse thing about shopping so early is keeping the gifts hidden until it's time to give them out.

I do not think that it will be that difficult to hide things from my wife.  I place things in plain sight and she does not even notice them.  I picked up some magazine that she wanted to read and placed it in the middle of an empty coffee table.  Two days later she noticed it.

I've owned Metroid Fusion for years, but still haven't gotten to it. Want to play it NOW!

There is far less freedom in Fusion than in Super Metroid and Zero Mission, but that is one of the reasons that I love it.  There is more of a story, but not in the Other M kinda way.

I'm so behind in all the Metroid games. I've only played several hours of Metroid Prime even though I now own most of the games. Need... more... time.

We haven't bought Christmas stuff yet but we're in the process of figuring out what to get all our family members. So much more complicated when married! Tongue Out

I can agree with that, my family is large enough that we have been doing a secret santa thing over the past couple of years.  Now that I have to worry about Marie's small family it has gotten a lot more complicated.  Now I have to worry about more than a handful of people.

It was not really my decision.  My wife wanted a list.  I would have probably waited at least another month before contemplating Christmas.
