Parks and Recreation Has Really Gone Down Hill...

Wtf happened to this show? This was in my top 3 comedies of all time, but after watching the first episode of season 6, I feel like I have to remove it. Did this show get new writers or something? This episode sucked. It was terrible. There were funny moments, sure, but there were moments that were just so out of character, and jokes that just felt so forced. Take Gerry for instance. His whole baby milk thing was just gross and completely out of character. The joke dragged on to uncomfortable levels, and I'm not talking about content wise, like It's Always Sunny or something. No, I'm talking about a joke that was not even remotely funny to the point of being embarrassing being dragged on for 5 minutes.

Ann had some godawful jokes tonight as well. "I've got it!" she exclaimed, happily in a meeting with Leslie. "Ok what's your idea?" Leslie said back. "Oh no, I caught a fly... sorry." I mean I would be ok if this was a one of joke, but she had 3 of these misunderstanding moments in the episode.

The material with John Ralphio and family was also pathetic. I mean goddamn I almost turned it off. If it wasn't for the fact that Ron, April, and Andy were still great in this episode, I would have thrown it in the garbage and never looked back. However, apparently Andy isn't even in the next episode, so fuck this show.

Parks and Rec has been going downhill since Ann and Chris decided to have a baby, but I never thought it would stoop this low. The new characters are just reskins of Andy or another idiotic character. There's no originality, and the characters will turn into someone completely different just for a punchline. Honestly, the show used to remind me of the glory days of the simpsons. Now it reminds me of season 15 or whatever. Let's just pray for season 5 of Community...

Ah, I love Amy Poehler. But I've never seen this show.

Seriously? From Season 2 - 4 this show is fucking hilarious. You need to watch it! Season 1 is kinda meh though.

Just put it on my Netflix cue. Adam Scott is in it too! I just saw him in Party Down. Loved that show.

I didn't think it was that bad. It wasn't season 2-3 quality, but Andy, April, and Ron were all well written as usual and I was laughing pretty consistently. The last episode was a really noticeable step down though, dealt with Eagleton and Leslie was childish even by her standards. Hopefully it's just a minor hiccup.

Really? Both Gerry and Leslie did some really out of character things, and every time JOhn Ralphio ended up on screen I felt like fast forwarding to a bit where he wasn't on. And I usually like John Ralphio. I haven't even bothered with this ep yet and parks and rec is the show that I always watch ASAP.

Gerry's thing was out of character, but it also had him screwing up by doing something right with Leslie's speech, which is always the funniest thing they do with him. Leslie was a bit out of character, but it felt like she was just irritated, not like it came from out of nowhere. Ron's speech telling her to always keep the higher ground felt like Parks and Rec as usual.

Jean Ralphio at his best, but I didn't think he was bad. Of course I usually only really laugh at him when he's paired with Donna or Ron.

I'm currently almost done with the third season. If it's really that bad this season, you might want to check Brooklyn 99 because that has one of the same creators as parks and rec.

I have been watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It's pretty darn good so far, I must say.
