While I"m not a part of the internet that hates the existence of the 2DS, I am a huge lfan of the 3DS XL.  However, one of my friends recently told me she was getting a 2DS over the 3DS XL as well.  She said she couldn't really afford the XL and something a bit smaller would feel better in her hands.  So do whatever works for you.  It's the games that are important(like Fire Emblem Awakening).

The games are really what i want it for in the first place

 Seriously fuck other people. Its a cheap 3DS without the worst part of the 3DS. Where's the downside?

Happy Birthday!   Final Fantasy XII is one of my favorite games.  The story isn't the greatest, but I loved playing that game.  I've been playing SMTIV for over a month.  I'm about 60hrs in.  I hope I can finish it soon.  I'm ready to move on.

Happy birthday. The 2DS is a good way to get into 3DS games at an affordable price. I don't see anything wrong with that. I want the XL to drop in price so I can replace my launch model. I don't have any money to do that right now regardless. I'd have to get it for free.

The price on the 2DS was what sold me at first 130 for any console these day is amazing

and there are so many great games right now.

I'm gonna be buying games for it till next Christmas, and thats even with all the ones im getting for my birthday XD
