I've been playing GTA but not online yet. I'm still inching my way into it.
Star Command is a great game, but it gets repetitive, and is pretty hard, too.

Happy Tuesday Pixlbit! I just want to say that my Fantasy Football team earned a win on Sunday, in what was the worst game of the league. Both teams scored 20 points under their projected scores but thanks to Philip Rivers going colorblind, and Sebastian Janikowski hitting some FG’s, I scored a W. I’m currently waiting to see if I get the kicker I need for when Janikowski goes on his bye week.
So how are ya Pixlbit? Anything cool happen over the weekend? Were you playing GTA Online as an annoying Harry Potter sounding kid, trying to kill everyone for sh*ts and giggles? If so I was the guy who took you down…twice. You’re welcome other gamers. I spent the majority of the weekend enjoying the outdoors (it’s finally cooling down), watching some crazy football games, and spending time with the Nexus 7.
I saw an article for this game on Flipboard, so I decided to try it out. It’s another one of those Match 3 games but this time it’s set in the Marvel Universe.
The game’s story is basically you build a team made up of the super heroes of the Marvel Universe, and you take on bad guys by matching 3 or more of the same jewels. The various jewels represent whichever characters are in your team, and you get the usual powerups in battle.
In between battles you get the little comic book looking panel where the characters are talking to Nick Fury and uncovering more of the storyline.
Each battle is laid out on a “map” around the city. Currently I’m stuck at Stark Tower because damn snipers keep giving a ton of damage to my characters.
When you do happen to finish a battle, you get rewarded with either special crystals that helps up upgrade your heroes, or comic book covers that give the ability to upgrade your character’s armor, or train them to unleash more damage.
I do like this game, but it’s like other match three fighting games. The only difference is that it has the Marvel name and characters, so it “feels” more mainstream. I’ll be playing this game from time to time, but it isn’t something that I want to spend hours at a time trying to play through.
So while eating lunch (I’m a fan of the Mighty Wings, the commercials are stupid), I saw this little ad on the bag and decided to give this game a try. A quick overview is someone thought there should be an NFL Branded version of Temple Run, minus the smooth controls, and smooth gameplay.
NFL Runner starts out with you in training camp (I do like how they hid the tutorial in training camp), and after you complete it, you pick a team.
Once you decide on a character and a player name, you go and compete in the NFL Runner world where you score gets uploaded with everyone else who picked your team. I do like this feature because you are competing with fellow fans…err folks who are also eating lunch and got interested in an ad on their bag.
Being a free game you have to expect some of the premium power ups involving real money. Sorry McDonalds, I’m not spending $10 on some uber powerup.
However McDonalds does place codes on cups and I think the Mighty Wings boxes so you can unlock some powerups (I think the $10 uber powerup is all these power ups). I might just buy a $1 Coke today for the code…and the sweeter Coke that McDonalds seems to have.
NFL Runner is ok, but don’t go in expecting the NFL meets Temple Run. It feels slower, the controls are not as smooth and responsive, but it does have that NFL License.
Karateka Classic was one of the bonus games from the Humble Bundle, I only played a couple of games and well it’s interesting. Instead of having a D-Pad and punch and kick buttons, it has icons that you hit if you want to perform that move. I know it’s the same as having A,B,C/X,Y,Z layout but it feels odd because it the images and not the letters. It reminds me of Kung Fu on the NES, and I seem to like to hit the bow button to my fallen opponent.
QWOP is another bonus HB game, and this is so WTF, I couldn’t stop laughing. The premise of the game is that you control the runners legs with the left and right on screen controls. You have to get them to move as a team so your character can run. I spent 30 minutes having my player fall on his face, bum, and hopping. I had way more fun making him crash than actually trying to run. One day I’ll figure it out and see if I can make him run, but for now crashing is just as fun
This is the reason why I bought the HB. It looked so interesting because you control an 8-bit team in space, and they fight bad guys. Think Star Trek meets retro graphics on a tablet. I don’t know how much fun this would be on a phone, but it’s perfect on a tablet.
Typical game, you start out with making your character. After that you assemble a crew (I went with a What Would Kirk Do mentality, and hired an all female crew). You add all the vital parts to your ship like an engine room, lab/medical, and a weapons room, and off you go.
I am at my first battle. I don’t know how to fire the cannons, so I might have to re read the info. From what I have played I do like it. You encounter some cheesy aliens and you get the usual three different responses the diplomatic, neutral, and F it, let’s battle. This game I will be playing more of.
I’m still playing Tapped Out. I decided to hook up one of my friends and give them all my gremlins so they can up their Goo Collection. I wish I could just hand over all of them instead of 10 a day, but at least they increase their Goo Numbers. I also unlocked some new stuff through watching the new Simpsons episode, and collecting the Ghost Goo.
The Ghost of Maude Flanders and a random Zombie
Kodos to complete my Aliens and King Snorky from last year’s Treehouse of Horror
The Vaccum to suck up all the ghosts in Springfield, and Strongman Homer from watching the Treehouse of Horror
Ultrahouse 2 and my favorite First Church of Lardland.
When I did touch the PS3, I mainly played two games
NCAA Football
I finished off my first season as #3 BYU head coach with a trip to the Rose Bowl and beating #10 Oregon. I think BYU was screwed out of a championship because they were an independent, undefeated team. They were bypassed by I think Oklahoma vs random SEC team. They finished the year #2, and I got a job offer to be the coach at Mizzouri
I’m still doing the Offense only, and sim the Defensive side to make the games more interesting. In my first season with Mizzou I started Maty Mauk, and the team went Undefeated, Finished 1st and 2nd in the Heisman, and won a National Title. I’m currently in the second season and the defense isn’t as good, but they are still undefeated after four games including a double OT win at then #1 Alabama.
GTA V
I’m starting to use Trevor in side missions and I found him on a mountain looking like this, and now he has a new car.
I don't play a lot of online, not because it isn't fun, but I tend to do the same stuff I do online as I do offline (cruise around, try and get a fighter jet out of the military base), and besides I still have all those side missions to play.
Well that’s all for now, more later!

It doesn't have a wiki page yet. I looked everywhere for any news about it and had to settle for D3 Publisher's web page here: http://www.d3p.us/ProductDetails.asp?ProductID=230
