After years of sitting on the sidelines of gaming blogs and site's, I have finally decided to just dive in and have some fun. As such, I think I should first talk a little bit about myself and my plans for this blog. When I first got into videogames, my mom gave me a subscription to EGM magazine and I subsequently began frequenting 1up.com. I made a few forays into the blog section but could never get up the courage - or the drive - to just commit to doing it. As time went on I migrated to other sites like gametrailers and eurogamer, but I always found myself craving the sense of community that I saw on 1up. Recently, I went back to the site only to see that it is closing up shop and that the majority of the community was migrating to this new domain. So in short, it is bittersweet that 1up is closing since my birth place into gaming has faded away, but at the same time I now have the opportunity to start fresh with this community.

I would like to do several things on this blog. First, since this generation of consoles is coming to a close - I have compiled a list of backlogged games that I will be working through and sharing my thoughts on. I am going to be reviewing these games as how I see them now - not as how they were when they launched and it's going to be my way of poking fun at things I see and praising things I love in these games. Secondly, I want this blog (and other blogs I read and respond to) to connect me to the community. If I hear something on a podcast that I would really like to respond to or expand upon then I will most likely make a post on here about it. Similarly, on all my posts I would love feedback from you guys whether it be agreeing or disagreeing with one of my points or giving me grammatical feedback since that will probably be something I am a little rusty on as you may have seen. Anyways, here is to hopefully a start of an awesome new time at this site and it's great to meet you guys. Execute!

Nice to meet you. =) Any fellow Mega Man fan is coolios to me. Favorite series? Mine is the X games. I still try and play them occasionally.

Well, I started with megaman X so that one is my favorite, I really liked the NT series because it was on the go and I could play with my friends. But the X series was the coolest though hardest for sure.

I played through NT2 because I wanted to see what the fuss was all about. While it was fun, it didn't quite fit into what an RPG was, nor did it seem like a true Mega Man game. My favorites were X1 and X4, because they really did revolutionize the series, along with MMZero. It's really too bad that MM has entirely missed this generation of hardware beyond the retro sequels.

Howdy!

I used to be big fan of EGM back in the day. I ended up getting into Nintendo Power back in the N64 days though, and that kind of became my magazine of choice. Now that that's gone, I'm looking at the new EGM. I picked up a few issues of it last year and I enjoyed it, especially since they brought Sushi-X back!

Welcome.

I had a subscription to EGM until it folded and they started mailing me some bullshit publication to complete my year.

I'm not sure why I first went to 1UP but I was more active there than I've ever been anywhere since I used to post on the boards at GameSpot.

I expect to be at least as active here since I have 50 or more other people from 1UP to talk to. Now if I could only keep track of what they're saying I'd be fine. LOL

For real lol, I've been backtracking to blogs I read early to see where the discussion is going all day. Oh well that why there are site updates.

Hey there, look forward to reading your blogs! And I have no problem pointing out grammatical errors, if they're particularly egregious and make something hard to read, so don't you worry. Wink

Of course, as long as I can read it, and it's coherent, even if there are mistakes, I might not notice, but if it gets out of hand, I'll speak up.

I too came to 1up because of EGM, so it's nice that we have that in common.

Howdy, howdy. I just finished archiving eight years' worth of blog entries from 1up. It's amazing how much better my blogging is now than it was when I started. You'll get the feel for it in no time.
