Blake Plays Dark Souls Wrong!

Hello, people of the internet! I'm Blake Turner, and today I am going to play Dark Souls in ways it clearly wasn't intended to be played. We're talking alternative builds here guys, and the first is one I'm lovingly referring to as "Fist Puncher."

The rules of this build: no normal weapons. No armour except pants. Only my fists and fist based weapons. Also . . . I just realised that I won't get my first weapon until after I fight the Taurus Demon. That's right. I'm going to be taking him on with my fists. Probably in the next episode.

Sit back and Prepare To (Watch Me) Die. Also, if you like this video, please give it a like and subscribe over at The You Tubes. Gives us more exposure, and, well, I just like to know that you care about me.

Ok.. So.. Let me help you with this one...

There IS a way to fight the Taurus Demon and blah blah blah WITH fist weapons..
This is going to take a lot of patience and a little luck though..

First; make sure you took the Master Key as your Gift in the beginning.
Then go down into Drake Valley and run straight through and past all of the Blue Drakes (Lots of luck here....) and cut right near the bridge and head up the elevator.
Here; you'll find yourself in the Darkroot Basin!
Try to run as fast as you possibly can from that Bonfire and evade the Silver Knight (or is it a Black Knight? I don't remember...) and head up the Basin ledges and towards Andre. Sneaking past the Titanite Demon shouldn't be too bad, but be careful and zig-zag a bit to avoid his lightning attacks. Andre sells a Cestus, so boom!

Hope this helps man!!

...I'd rather take my chances with the taurus demon lol. I always take the master key though, because you're an idiot if you don't. I knew about that route from watching a speedrun where they beat the game in an hour, but I'd rather do this properly.

As a heads up then, the Taurus Demon has 1,215 HP, and unarmed punches do 2 damage no matter what (Unarmed doesn't scale), so you need to hit the Taurus Demon approximately 608 times before he'll go down. If you take the time to grab the Cestus and head back, it'll greatly increase your odds of success!

Regardless though, good luck!

unarmed doesn't scale?  don't you think that's an oversight?

Not really. You're not supposed to use unarmed lol.

Oddly enough.. I believe Unarmed scaled with Str. in Demon's Souls...

Plus, Unarmed was extremely powerful against Skeleton-based enemies in Demon's Souls as well, not sure if that's the case in Dark Souls or not though...

Crafty strategy Chris. Now that I think it all through I see that's indeed totally possible. Either way, whether Blake takes the cestus or not this will be crazy to watch the Tarus battle. I remember watching EpicNameBro fight Ornstein and Smough with an unarmed character or something, I can't remember but it was nuts. Maybe it was without taking damage or something, he was shaking and baking like the fucking dickens and had a crazy battle with those two.

I watched the first episode and gave you a like and subscribe on youtube Blake. I've played about 130 hours of the game so far and am still doing another playthrough but I've never seen any character hollowed and without a shirt on so when I saw your guy I laughed and was like, "that's what our characters look like under the armor?". Also the only time I ever punched a guy was with the Dark Hand to soak up some humanity. I haven't seen the cestus in action or ever seen somebody do a fisty punchy build. This will be cool.

Thanks man! Glad you liked it! And the undead are usually a browny red colour, mines black because I made a Black Guy, named Dave.

Unless you're an uber-god at Dark Souls like Chris, you're toast, dude. Good luck!

I only died three times and that was usually because I got cocky. Dark Souls is pretty easy once you work out a few strategies.

Taurus demon should be cake, but tedious. If you stand close enough he can't hit you. As for the rest of the game, good luck. Personally, it would bore the hell out of me what with fist weapons doing so little damage.

Yeah. I'll speed the video up so it doesn't take nine hours lol. I think the Taurus Demon should be pretty easy. Not looking forward to the Bell goblins though... that would be fucking hard.

I think the only correct way to play Dark Souls is to die... repeatedly. So technically you are not playing it wrong!

Cool. They should give you more damage than just 2 though. What if you have serious marital arts skills? You should do a lot more damage and even be able to throw enemies.
