Why hello Pixlbit, see we made it, It’s Friday, Friday, Gotta Get Down On Friday…(sorry)

Yeah since it’s Friday, it’s Quick Hits With Chris! I’m actually typing this on Thursday because I have a couple of free minutes, and tomorrow I will probably be hitting a couple of different GameStop’s, taking advantage of the Buy 2 Get 1 Free for Power Up Rewards folks aka the suckers who dropped $15 (yay us!). I want to pick up the more pricey 360 games that I think are “Must Haves” especially before they start to disappear and some guy thinks his copy of Halo is worth $60 bucks…don’t laugh Flea Market guy tried to justify why his Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt cart is worth $10.

Random GTA Post

My brother and I have been texting while playing GTA single player about what we are doing, and which cars we have fixed up. This is a pick of a random ATV I found around Trevor’s neck of the woods, and sent it to my brother. He countered with a picture of him standing over a dead boar (who knew they were in the game). I eventually found one and did the same.

I Saw An Ouya In The Wild

While walking around Target looking through the clearance end caps, I saw the Ouya in the PC games section. If I didn’t buy my 360 last week, I would have jumped all over this because I like Android games. I would like to get one at some point. Oh FYI, if you need cell phone cases, tablet cases, and other little electronics hit the clearance section. There is a mountain of it right now.

The Ouya Target still has an autographed Band Perry

When I went to check out the CDs, I spotted this. It was pretty cool to still see one autographed copy of a good album. I’m really liking that Target has these special versions of albums (along with having the vinyl versions of the 20/20 Experience 1 & 2).

Disney Infinity

Walking around Toys R Us, I spotted the new exclusives. I guess the big thing for TRU is the clear figures, first with Lightning McQueen, and now Mr. Incredible and Sulley. I think that game has run it’s course with me. I haven’t played it for a couple of weeks now, and I don’t know if I will play it anytime soon.

Humble Bundle

This is the new Humble Bundle pack and it’s Android compatible. The only game I really want to play is Ticket To Ride, the other games I really don’t care about. I’m still debating on if I should buy it

I’ve always wondered if people actually just pay a $1 on these Pay What You Want sales. I’m not gonna judge if you do, but I couldn’t do that to the developers, charities, etc.

USC TMB And Will Farrell

Saw this on Reddit, I thought it was funny.

And the video

Look What I Found

While at a thrift store, I spotted a factory sealed 8 track. I have no idea how these work, but my uncle collects them, so he has a cool piece.

USA Soccer

I do love the trash talk after USMNT beat Jamaica 3-2 with a lineup with a lot of new players. WORLD CUP HERE WE COME!

Pickups

After seeing a post on Twitter while sitting at the car wash (I’m the guy with the big headphones sitting off to the side) I saw that someone picked up some PS3 games for $6. Since the car wash was across the street from Target, I made a pit stop and I found

I think I now have all the RE games released on the Playstation consoles but I could be wrong.

I heard Toys R Us had the Robin and motorcycle polybags along with Iron Man. They didn’t have Robin, but I did find Iron Man and Geoffrey poly bags. I also picked up a couple of the recent Lego Minifig Blind Bags because there’s a sax player figure. It’s a must have for me because that was my instrument from 5th Grade to Marching Band in college.

Random CDs from the Thrift Store. Turns out the Shania Twain is basically the same as the normal release except the song order is completely different. I really enjoyed that Martina McBride album. It’s the usual “let’s cover a bunch of popular songs” album, but I think she did a wonderful job, and all but one or two songs received 4 and 5 star ratings from me so they now call my iPod home.

Next music purchase was big for me because I rarely find a lot of good stuff in one place, but last night while picking up some groceries, I stopped at my local Goodwill. There was a bunch of records, and I thought those were the left overs from the last time I was there. Turns out these are recent and have been sitting for a couple of days. There was a bunch of awesome stuff, and I could only imagine what other records that were there before the usual suspects snatched them up. 90% of the albums in the pile look liked their former owner took really good care of them. The only wear you could see is on the record jackets.

The pic I posted on Instagram about my haul

There were two other Sinatra albums, but one was just the jacket and liner notes, and the other had a couple of deep scratches.

Unlike the other Trift Store, Goodwill think Saturday Night Fever is $2

I think I'm slowing assembling Elton John's Discography between CDs and Vinyl

I do love me some Marching Band music

The Eagles Live album still has the poster, which is interesting to look at. It was the big ticket item of the group coming in at $2.99

The final music pickups for the week

My friend was kind enough to pick this up for me in Hawai’i.

Just like her previous album I now have a digital copy and now the physical copy. One of the few artists I stumbled upon on Youtube, and really enjoy her music.

Pickups from the local mom & pop

Nothing too fancy here, Mos Def, and Pharrell are cool, and Paperboy reminds me of lunch during my Freshman Year of high school when they would play music in the lunch area.

Flashback to teenage Chris eating Pizza Hut Pizza hanging out with friends talking about random things (most likely either sports, music, or baseball cards)

And from the freebie box (I love the freebie box. There are some odd stuff, but you can find some stuff worth at least checking out)

Who knew 1 hit wonder Del Amitri has a greatest hits album?

Well there you go, I’ll post my finds from the B2G1 Free next week along with some XBox Arcade games I bought (again THANK YOU’S go out to Rangergirl, Transmet2033, KnightDriver, and Nick DiMola for awesome recommendations on Arcade games I should try. My wallet isn't happy with you good folks, but I have some awesome arcade games)

Well my weekend has started so I’m out, but you all have a great weekend.

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Love me some Ticket to Ride in that Humble Bundle. I have it on XBLA - played it to death. Wish they would make some more boards. The meatspace board game has tons of expansions.

That image of the iPod or iPhone on the stack of vinyl is pretty cool. It's interesting to think how music has changed in its forms of delivery. The amount of vinyl you could get on that device would probably be enough to build a small house out of.

I need to check out Meatspace to see if it's something I'd like.

Right?! This is why I prefer to buy physical forms of media, because at some point there is going to be a new format, and gadget and I want to move to that. I went from mp3, to high bitrate mp3, to Apple's aac, and trying out Lossless.

I should've put "meatspace" in quotes because it's just a little joke about the game being in the real world and not digital. I wonder what a game called Meatspace would be: Super Meat Boy Space?

I tried out a special 32 bit remaster CD once and loved it! The clarity of the drum sounds just blew me away. I was ecstatic. Also, I've been in a real music studio before for recording and killer studio speaker cabinets make a world of difference. Of course they are crazy expensive.

Haha, my bad. With all the games there are I figured someone called their game meatspace. If there was a game I would guess it could be like that minigame in Skate 2 where it shows you which bones you broke when you crashed. I could see a game where you jump off of buildings, in front of cars, etc. and see how much damage you can inflict.

That must of sounded awesome! I also saw that there is Blu-ray audio. I'd like to give this a try, once it becomes more mainstream.

Pain on PSN was like that. You have a giant slingshot which you use to shoot characters into an environment and do as much damage as possible. Some celebrities were in it too like David Hasslehoff.

I wonder how successful Ouya is. If it can find its place in Target, I'm sure it has had some success with casual gamers. After the $100 Vita TV was announced (even though it's not announced for North America yet) I can't see myself wanting one.

I used to pick up those Humble Bundles all the time. I've stopped though. Since I rarely play games on PC, I found every time my unused Steam library got bigger so did the hole inside me!

I think right now the Ouya is more of a niche market thing, than anything else. There hasn't been any commercials that I've seen, and it seems like only a few people know about. It's something I want, but I can wait on buying it.

Your welcome! I see you're having fun with Shadow Complex. The moment I knew I had to have that game was when I blew up the helicopter and got an achievement for it at the end of the demo. I don't know if you're into JRPGs, but Lost Odyssey may be my favorite of this generation, even over Ni No Kuni and the Tales games.

Oh that game is soooo good. I find myself learning something new, and then trying to go back and see if I can use it earlier in the level. This is one of those games that I will most likely go back and play through it because of this.

Not a big RPG fan but thanks for the recomendations.
