Glad you're getting into MGS3! I still want to pick up MGS Peace-walker on my psp.
MGS3 rocks! "Yeah, welcome to 10 years ago, jackass."

If I'm lucky, I cleaned up my last senior football game of the year and the school won't have the home field advantage and host a tournament. It was Senior Night last night and it took me a full 3 1/2 hours to clear the field. It's not the end of the world if they do (one big game a week isn't that bad but I hate how close it would come to Thanksgiving) but I'm ready for this to be over. Just smaller who-gives-a-shit games from here on out, okay guys?
So thankful for the Vita. As I've said before, Mon-Fri, is a hard time to get gaming in and trudging through Metal Gear Solid 3 on-the-go has been a blast. It's a long game and I've put in small plays here and there but I'm further now than I ever got on the PS2 version. It's shaking up to be my favorite entry in the series for me (and I still have MGS4 to play): the level design is exquisite, the CGC is addicting, the plot is fun and engaging and all of the boss battles have been fun. On the latter, that's a huge step up because as much as I enjoyed the previous games, some boss battles (Vamp, Vulcan Raven) irritated the hell out of me.
The End boss battle was something I was looking forward to and dreading at the same time. I thought I'd screw it up and never find the guy. The cat-and-mouse nature of the fight (and that it truly feels like a battle between two snipers) and the wonderful character of The End made it emotionally engaging as well as challenging. It took me somewhere between 45-50 minutes to take him down.
Right now, I've taken down The Fury (harder than I thought; I died a few times before I realized you should avoid close encounters and shoot him from a distance) and now I'm at the big-ass headquarters. If there's any part of the game I could potentially screw up, I bet it's this section. It just looks so daunting.
After I put the lid on Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando, I decided to dip into Up Your Arsenal. It's still as good as I remember but I miss not having all of that sweet armor and weaponry that I ended with on GC. Not to mention, on my 2nd playthrough of GC, I finally obtained the RYNO II! It's badass! Between my fully upgraded armor, Kilonoids, shield and that gun, I was unstoppable. Great feeling.
As I'm typing this, I woke up not too long ago. I got in from work at 7 a.m. and went to bed around 8:30. I woke up at 3:30 p.m. All of that day already gone due to the heinous mess left by football fans. At least I'm rested. I've got the animated version of The Dark Knight Returns in from Netflix (I'm told it's excellent) and plenty of tv and gaming to catch up on.
That's all for now. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!
