I picked up Tiny Death Star too, but I haven't had a chance to play it yet. Really looking forward to it though, it sounds cute.
That's funny about that Star Trek game. Heard it wasn't good though, which sucks as I like Star Trek a lot.

Happy Friday Pixlbit! Yeah Quick Hits With Chris is a little later than normal, but it’s all good, I’m here, you’re here, let’s spend some time and see what kind of randoms are happening in my little piece of the World Wide Web.
The Weather
Being in sunny SoCal, we get a couple of weeks of what we like to call Winter. The temperature dips under 70 degrees, and I have to mix in jeans and a hoodie into the wardrobe. During this time it becomes hockey jersey season, and it doesn’t start until I wear this one
When the Paul Kariya jersey is worn, it becomes hockey season, and I can start wearing my other jerseys.
Rippin’ Records
So I started doing this again, but this time I’m taking a new approach. I’ve decided that instead of trying to rip into individual tracks, I’m going to have the albums as two aac files (Side A and Side B). If there is an album I really like then I’ll separate the big file into individual tracks. I started with a Marching Band album.
Game Pickups
I added some new music, but first let’s look at some new games
This was found at Target, and it rang up as Not In System. The employee said I could have it at the last price, which was around $6. I thought it was worth a try at that price, and next blog I’ll let you know of my thoughts about this game.
I saw an article about this game on Flipboard, and decided to try it. Just like Star Trek, I’ll let you know what I feel about it (psst…give it a download, it’s free)
Music Pickups
I heard some good things about the new EP from Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington, so I thought to give it a try. It isn’t bad but at first it sounded like Linkin Park. I also picked up T.I. and Flo Rida from Best Buy. The other albums I picked up from a local thrift store. Led Zeppelin is actually Box Set 2 which is a nice surprise especially since they were $1.99 each.
I picked this up at Target when I bought Star Trek. I actually went there to buy the iTunes card because earlier that evening I kept hearing a familiar band being played at a couple of stores, and when I went to Shazam it (my favorite app), it always came up Best Coast. I knew this was a sign to pick up the rest of their discography
They are my favorite accidental find of 2013.
I also found that Bob Marley album in the clearance section, and it’s interesting because it’s a lot of live stuff. I haven’t seen the actual movie, but know of his story, which is pretty interesting.
Yup I picked this album up. After a listen through, I underwhelmed with it. The original Marshall Mathers was one of my favorite albums, but I’m just not that interested in this album. I enjoyed maybe one or two of the songs on the album, and maybe a couple more on the bonus disc, but overall I’m just not into this album. Maybe after another listen or two that might change, but right now its with Magna Carta and Yeezus as my duds of the year.
Final music pickups of the week came from the local mom & pop and their new Buy 5 $1.99 get 5 free wall. Eminem and DMX’s …And Then There Was X was $6 each and from the regular part of the store. The John Legend album is interesting because it came in a different jewel case, and is a double sided disc, with one side being a DVD.
Before I call it a blog, this showed up on my Facebook Timeline. I follow a page for former Disneyland Cast Members* and I thought this was an awesome costume…and the kid didn’t start moving until the music started. He knows he’s On Stage*
*Disney Lingo: Cast Members = employees, On Stage = In the public view. I still do the two finger/open palm point and get on a knee when I talk to kids. It’s been a decade since I worked at the parks.
Well have a good weekend Pixlbit!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
