I'm actually surprised the site kept my profile.

 

Yes folks, after months of not logging on to at least check out how everyone was doing, I'm back.  And I'd love to tell you how much interesting stuff has gone on in my life!

...except I'd be totally lying to you.  Unfortunately my life's been moving at a bit of a snail's pace, and I lost way more initiative this summer than I thought I would.  I haven't worked since summer but had a job interview just last week!  Hopefully I'll hear back from them soon; it's a part-time gig with our local library system, about a buck over minimum wage, but beggars can't be choosers (especially with the holidays coming up).  I've actually been volunteering with the library too, so hopefully that'll put me in even better graces with the HR department.

I also did some political volunteer work recently, too.  As I'm certain some of my fellow Americans heard, Virginia held elections for state offices last week--that included governor, lieutenant governor, and attorney general, plus delegates for the General Assembly (our legislature).  I volunteered for the Democratic Party, going door-to-door to remind past Democratic supporters to get out the vote last Tuesday, which they did...and now we'll have a new governor this January!  (To note, Virginia governors can't serve two consecutive terms.)  I'll have a more detailed breakdown/retrospective of that later, but for now I'll just say the Virginia GOP ran an interesting (and actually quite scary) ticket this year, and chances are someone here's heard something about them (none of which was positive, surely).

Not much in gaming for me, though.  I've suffered a debilitating addiction to Animal Crossing: New Leaf ever since I picked that up in May.  I reaaally need to break that habit, but it just keeps calling me back!  Also, I've been quite addicted to racking up Streetpass tags as of late, too; I bought the new minigames shortly after they came out, and I've enjoyed them very much.

I think that's all for now.  But it's good to be back, and hopefully I'll have more substantive things to write later!
