Problems With The Vita, Humble Brag, And Tiny Death Star

Good morning Pixlbit! I’m actually typing this on Sunday Morning and later in the evening, because I will probably be out tomorrow enjoying the extra Weekend Day for Veterans Day (for you folks who served, a very big Thank You!) Another reason why I am typing this up today is because I am currently restoring my iPad.

For most of this past year, I’ve had a jailbroken iPad because it’s a 1st Gen, and I just wanted to customize the appearance. Well this morning, something happened to where the icons are all spread out, and some of the Apps just go to a black screen. It’s annoying but I guess it was time to go back to regular iOS. I miss the look but I’d rather have dependability.

I think I lost a couple of game saves like Candy Crush and Dead Space 2, but I really didn’t get too deep into it, and CC, I really don’t care so it’s not a big deal.

This past Friday, and Saturday I decided that I was going to try and have a game day where the plan was to make a dent in the games I am currently playing, and play more of my new 360 backlog. I did some of this but I also took in some other gaming too

Treasures of Montezuma Blitz

A couple of days ago I loaded up this game and I was met with that screen. After a couple of tries it was stuck on this loop, and I thought nothing of it. I tried again a day later, and same thing. When checking out other PSN features and I saw this when I wanted to check out my Friends List

First thing I thought of was “Hey PSN might have been hacked…I wonder what freebies we might get” Hopefully Sony fixes this, but until then I have Bejeweled and other games that are similar on other consoles.

Crazy Market

I saw this game while checking if the PSN Store worked on the Vita, and since it was free I might has well give it a shot right?

The game is simple: You’re a new cashier, and your goal is to scan a number of items and collect random coins that appear. There are little bonuses like speeding up/and slowing down the conveyor belt, hand scanner, and other grocery store themed items.

At the end of your shift, you get graded and everything starts up again. It’s a fun casual game, and there isn’t much to it, plus it’s free so you can’t go wrong. For you trophy loving folks, I believe there are a couple of trophies that you can earn.

Smart as…

This is just a humble brag. I got a personal best on this math game in Smart as…

Tiny Death Star

I teased this in my Quick Hits blog, and I found this game by accident. I was reading an article on Flipboard, and saw an article for the iOS version. Since this is a game I would probably play everyday, I went with the Android version. (The iPad is used to read/casual surfing the web before I go to sleep).

Now I’m not familiar with the Tiny Tower games, but slap Star Wars on it, and I will play it. From my understanding the point of the game is to build levels within the Death Star so you can entice people to move in. I do get a kick out of the 8-bit style, and I’m trying to limit my play with a couple of minutes a day. It seems like an addicting game and I don’t want to get caught up. I just checked my game and it appears it continues to play/add levels when I don’t play. I went back and there are at least three or four new levels and a ton of coins.

I don’t really do much other than order things, and move the elevator but this is fun.

Is it me or does the Tiny Tower Darth Vader look like a certain Family Guy character?

Simpsons Tapped Out

Halloween is over which means the Simpsons Universe is back to normal until the Christmas update. This means I put away most of the Cemeteries that produced ghosts for the Halloween community game.

During the update I was greeted a new player level and Hank Scorpio. There are other interesting things in this update especially Milhouse’s parents

Luann comes with the Cracker Factory and Kirk comes with Bachelor Arms Apartments. There is also the Unemployment Office but I haven’t unlocked it yet. I wish there were updates for Krustyland or the Boardwalk.

I saw this while watching an ad for Forza. Kinda funny considering Adam Carolla doesn’t care for video games.

Well Pixlbit, it is 10am on Monday Morning, and I am going to enjoy this day outside…maybe Thrift Store Hoppin’, so once again Thank You to all our servicemen!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Dammit I haven't played Tiny Death Star yet, but I keep meaning to.  MAybe later this evening before dinner.

I've heard of people having problems with Vitas recently, but don't know much about it.  I don't have one myself so I haven't experienced it.  I'm going to get one in January though about the same time I go next gen with a PS4.

You have to play it, it's fun!

Yeah I don't know what happened to it, but last night I tried to play, and there was a new User Agreement that needed to be accepted. After that, it went back to normal, except now there is a new interface for the Friends Window.

Nice, a PS4 and a Vita. You sir are going to have a lot of gaming on your plate...which means you need to play Tiny Death Star ASAP! Tongue Out

Yeah she does. I do like how the game looks. The colors are vivid (green hair), and goes well with the Vita.
