Why Gods of Entertainment, WHY?

I have been trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to say all day. I have scrapped three or four different drafts because they never felt quite right. I am really hoping that this draft sticks because I am getting a little sick of deleting my work.

November typically seems to be a very big month for videogames. This is true for the big games and series, but not necessarily for the games that I play. I looked back over the past 7 years and noticed that I usually only had one game that I wanted that was released in November. There were a couple of exceptions, but for the most part I stuck with only one new release. Last year I picked up Halo 4, 2011 I got Skyrim, 2010 I got Black Ops and DKC Returns, 2009 I got NSMB Wii, and 2008 was Resistance 2. I could go farther back, but I do not want to bore you too much. Point is that November has never really been my month for videogames. My big months for videogames is early in the year because companies love delay my type of games to the next year.
This year is entirely different. There are 3 specific games that I have my eyes set on with a possible 4th. The 4th game is Adeventure Time Explore the Dungeon Because I DONT KNOW. The other three are Super Mario 3D World, A Link Between Worlds and Ys: Memories of Celceta. The weirdest part is that they are all being released within a week of each other. Adventure Time is the 19th and Ys is the 26th with Mario and Zelda between. The gods of entertainment are kind, but the are flooding me with all of it. On top of the videogames, The World's End comes out on video the 19th and Doctor Who's 50th anniversary is the 23rd.
It is awesome that all of this media is coming my way within a short period of time. It is not so nice to the wallet, or my wife... How am I supposed to celebrate my wedding anniversary when all I will want to do is watch Doctor Who and play A Link Between Worlds? The gods of entertainment can be so cruel sometimes.

In other news...
I finally had Dogfish Head's 90 minute imperial IPA, and it did not disappoint. My brother did when he only brought one bottle back for me.
Legend Brewing Company(or whatever it actually is called) out of VA has a really tasty Brown Ale and a Golden IPA.
I have decided to give up on El Shaddai. It was fun, but I am not feeling it anymore.
So, I have replaced the El Shaddai disc with Metro: Last Light. I put about 15 minutes into it this morning and already feel as though I made the correct decision.
I am working on Dragon's Crown for the Vita and Etrian Odyssey Untold on the 3DS. I have not touched Etrian Odyssey in a while, but that is okay with me.
With the release of Ratchet and Clank: Into the Nexus I am starting to want a PS3 again... It wouldn't be a bad reinvestment because I do have a ridiculous number of psn games. If I actually went through and counted, it would probably be well over 50 at this point. PS+ has not helped either.

I finally received recently Etrian Odyssey Untold. Don't regret that decision. I'm having a great time with it and for someone who is not expert at RPGs, i'm not having dificulty learning the mechanics.

That game does a fairly good job of explaining most things early on thanks to the story mode.  I like how the FOEs are mini-bosses strewn about the maps.  It adds difficulty if you want it, otherwise you are able to avoid them if you want to.

yeah I'm more of a Spring guy for video games too. But like you I am excited for Mario, even though I don't have a Wii U. I'm really excited for the HD versions of FFX too.

I wish that I knew when FFX was coming.  I think that I am finaly ready to play that game.  I have tried and failed before.  I just got sick of it back in the ps2 era, now that I can have a portable copy I am sure that I will devour it.

2011's November was like that for me. Skyrim, Dark Souls (Australia, everyone else got it in November), Uncharted 3, Saints Row 3, Rayman Origins, Serious Sam 3, AND Arkham City. Shit was intense.

All of those games, expcept Serious Sam, I have gotten at some point afterwards.  Skyrim was the only one that I had to have in November 2011.

You were totally right about Last Light.  That game is pretty frickin sweet.  It plays amazingly compare to 2033.  I suppose the bugs and glitches only added to the charm of 2033.

Yeah... you see the thing is that 2010 was the year I finally caught up to this generation. I wasn't allowed a 360 until I paid for it myself, so that was a spectacular moment for me. Then I saved up and bought a PS3... And it was one of those things where I was still at home and most of my friends had gone to college, so I had fuck all to do. So I gamed. A lot. Especially when I lost my job, which was around November, so I felt I needed those games. When I got to college though, things settled down... a bit anyways.

And told you! THat first bit is still a bit meh though...

I think if El Shaddai had been any longer, it would have worn out its welcome. I thought it was about the right length, even though it seemed to end abruptly but that was because I wasn't sure what exactly was going on in the story lol.

I listened to BA last night.  It sounds like I gave up on the most frustrating level in the whole game.  I may have to come back just to finish it off later.  The combat was becoming tiresome for me.  I liked the big change of pace that the motorcycle level gave, but that reinvigoration apparently didnt last long enough.

I haven't listened to the BA yet. Haven't had a big enough chunk of time but I'm very interested to hear what they have to say. Angelo and I are often on the same wavelength, it seems, when it comes to what we like and dislike but I definitely don't read into things the way he does.

That is quite coincidental. lol. I've rarely encountered a time where games I wanted were released a mere day or a mere week apart from each other.

The more consoles you have the greater the chance of that happening though.  All of the games that I want are on different platforms.  If I only had one handheld and one console I am sure that I would never have more than 2 games a month that I want, ever.

Sounds like a good time to see about asking for some vacation during the month of november. It's why I asked for the monday off following turkey day! I'll catch up then if I get any of those titles.

Normally we are not permitted to take vacation because production really ramps up in november and december.  This year hasn't been so bad, but I would rather have those days when it is nice outside so I hold onto them until the summertime.
