No I did not just mistype that. Yesterday they handed me a new phone. The Nokia 1020 Windows phone with a Forty freekin' one megapixel camera. That's like forty megapixels but it's one louder. LOL

Yeah well at that pixel density the law of diminishing returns kicks right in. Yeah I can now blow my pics up to the size of a wall and they'll still look good.

Actually my new phone is a fully fledged camera with some phone features built in.

It's actually a decent phone and since it was free there will be no looking gift cameras in the lens.

I would have taken pictures of it but I couldn't figure out how to take a selfie of my phone and my 14 meg Nikon is obviously not worthy. :)

That's Mr. camera snob to you Tami. :)

My boss asked me to take some pictures with it this weekend and show them to him.

I'm not sure how one tells the difference been 14 and 41 MPs looking at them on a 4.5 inch screen.

Maybe I'll do a slide show on the HD projector in our conference room.

I take shitty pictures though. Always have.

Hah! I take beautiful photos with my lowly 7.1 pixel camera, so there! Tongue Out

41 megapixels is great... for a cellphone.

I find it slightly silly.

Haha it is, but there's also the convenience of having a relatively good camera along with a phone. Not that I agree with such combo.

Well it does beat having to carry two devices just for phone calls and snapshots.

Cool.

I got the red HTC One for the Beats audio. I bought a cover recently that looks like...

I like HTC phones. I haven't had one for a while though. Quality stuff. That case is cool too. I need a case for my 1020 but they are hard to come by because the camera bit sticks out.

Oh yeah...that phone!  I had been seeing TV ads for it a month ago.  I'm sure it will serve you well.  I'm curious to know how the other aspects of the phone hold up (internet browsing, ect.).

I have a 920, so almost the same without so many megapixels. I am a huge windows phone fan -- solely because of the GUI. I hope you like it too. My wimpier camera is pretty sweet, so I bet yours is amazing.

I had a 900 before this one. They are pretty solid in terms of built quality. The 1020 is quite heavy for a cell phone

I saw this commercial a while ago for that monster.

You still gotta consider the quality of the lens in that thing. Still, camera phones make some cool shots. I still have my bulky DSLR for when I want to get creative and I carry around a little pocket camera for casual shots. I'd love to have a camera phone though (actually I'd love to have every photo shooting device). I'd like to see a wall sized print from that Nokia Lumia 1020.

I haven't done much with it yet. I took some pictures of my copy of Shenmue for a customer last night. but that's about it

damn, man.  that's a lot of megapickles.  you're gonna need a lot of sandwiches to eat all those.

I like free tech and this new job keeps giving me me stuff all the time. :)

I noticed that phone awhile back. That's the one that can't use instragram is it not?

I was thinking if I ever got a smart phone I'd try to get something like that. Never liked the current phones that do somewhat decent shots up close but I perfer to have a camera that can do more than just that.

Apparently they released a half assed Instagram app a few days ago but since I don't even know what Instaspam is so I haven't tried it.

It's a really solid phone and the metal casing makes it quite weighty but it doesn't really bother me.

I haven't really put the phone through it's paces yet. If you just snap a pic it defaults to 5 mp. You actually have to use some of the camera tools to set it any higher. Also I hear that the max it can actually do is 34 mp but I was confused so I stopped reading. LOL
