As most of you know, I got the opportunity to write the soundtrack for an indie PC strategy game called Pirate Code that came out last month after more than five years in development (you can read about why it took so long to make on the developer's blog here). Yesterday I posted the game's battle music for your listening pleasure and today I'm back with a trailer—and coupon! The trailer gives some story context to the battles and shows off plenty of action, of course, but also some of the more behind the scenes strategy bits like expanding and outfitting your fleet and crews. And, naturally, it features another one of my songs from the game Smile

Then there's the coupon, which was made specifically for us (though anyone can use it, of course). Just enter PIXLBIT5 when buying the game to get $5 off, bringing the price down to $9.95. There's also a free demo if you're not sure you'll like it or worried about your machine running it okay and the coupon is good for the rest of November, so give it a chance. I think it's right up your alley for a lot of you. Remember: PIXLBIT5. You can download the game here.

Also, Pirate Code is on Greenlight now, so if you have a Steam account, please give it a yes vote so we can get the game on Steam!

Now for the trailer!

I hope that "whoa, thanks!" is another way of saying "I'm plopping down my money right now!" Tongue Out

How will he ever be able to go back once he has become a pirate?

I guess you'll have to play the game to find out Wink

I voted. Are you going to potentially get paid for this if it sells?

I was paid for (most of) it as I wrote it, so unless it suddenly becomes a runaway bestseller, the money Pirate Code makes will go to pay for the expenses of the next game—like the music. So I still benefit.

Great job and the game looks cool I would buy it but unless I can play it on a galaxy tab I wouldnt be able to play it.

Poop, I don't think that will work. Maybe if you can hook up a normal keyboard and mouse to the tablet...? I have no idea if that would work or if it's even possible but it's a shame. You of all people would really enjoy this game Frown

I'm not really big on strategy games, but this does look cool. Is it turn based? Eh, whatever. I'll vote for it anyway! Nice job on scoring the soundtrack!

Your vote is appreciated! And you should at least try the demo. It is turn-based and who knows, you might really like it Smile

I can atleast give this game a go since I've yet to check out the music. Let's see if my netbook can hack it!
