Hey everyone!  I’ve got a big Thanksgiving feast planned right here on this blog for everyone to chow down into!  But it’s not filled with turkey and pumpkin pie, but more game reviews for you to feast on!  Your bellies may get a little plumper after reading, but my game reviews are full of nutrients so you’ll be filled with power, too!  So please read as many as you can and post a comment or two as well, I’d appreciate it!  Bon Appetit!

November 3DS StreetPass Meetup for the North Dallas/Plano, TX Area

But first, here’s an announcement about the next StreetPass Meetup for where I live.  If you’re nearby and have a 3DS, you’re welcome to come!  I’ll be there.  Click on the link if you want more info.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (360)

This one is just like the other LEGO games, and it draws a lot of inspiration from LEGO Batman 2.  LEGO games have their problems, but they’re still fun games and this one is no exception.  I don’t know much about Marvel characters and comic books in general, though.  My knowledge of Marvel is limited to the movies and what I see in Marvel vs. Capcom games.  So I don’t know who my favorite Marvel character should be.  Maybe you folks can help me out with that and pick one out you think I would like.  I kind of liked She-Hulk in Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but that was only because Phoenix Wright was in her ending, so I don’t know if I’d like her or not.

LEGO Friends (3DS)

It was LEGO weekend these past two days!  This is based on the LEGO toy line geared toward girls.  And you know what?  It’s actually pretty fun!  There is a lot to do, and it’s not too hard or confusing or anything.  If I had a little girl, I’d get this game for her.  So if you know a little girl with a 3DS and don’t know what to get her for Christmas, I’d recommend this one.  It’s a lot better than some of the other games out there geared toward girls!

Monster High: 13 Wishes (Wii)

Speaking of which, here’s an example of a game geared toward girls that’s NOT very good!  The basic gameplay is all right, but you’ve got visuals that look like something out of the N64 era, and the screen where you choose goals and objectives is really confusing.  I don’t see how the developers were able to look at this and say, ‘yeah, little kids will get this.’  I sure didn’t.  I can’t tell you what you’re supposed to do after beating the first boss.  Plus I don’t like the Monster High toy line anyway.  If I had a little girl, I’d try and discourage her from playing with Monster High dolls, and encourage her to play with other girl toys instead, like LEGO Friends!

Zumba Fitness World Party (Wii U)

I can’t dance worth a flip, but that’s the good thing about the Zumba games is that you don’t have to dance very well to play them.  As long as you keep moving, the game will register that you’re doing well.  There’s really no secret to Zumba fitness.  You’re just moving around a lot so you get a good cardio workout.  This one has a world tour theme, so one of the stage backgrounds is a castle from England, and it looks like Cammy’s stage from Street Fighter.  Boy, if Cammy were in the game, I’d play it all the time.  Ha ha!  Just joking!  Now I’m just being silly!  But seriously, one time at E3, Majesco was showing off a new Zumba game and I got to meet celebrity Zumba instructors so that was really cool.  They were very nice (and pretty, too).

Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures (3DS)

I already reviewed the main console version of this game, but I decided to do the 3DS one separately since it’s a whole new game.  The 3DS version is a 2-D platformer.  Not as good as the other versions, but not too bad either.

Angry Birds Star Wars (Wii)

I know Angry Birds haters and some Star Wars fans may scoff at this crossover, but I thought it was really cute.  You have the simple yet addictive gameplay of Angry Birds mixed with the familiar characters and settings of Star Wars.  And it has lots of humor, too.  I was a little disappointed that I had to review the Wii version, but it still held up pretty well and played nice with the Wii remote.

Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed (3DS)

It’s a basic 2-D platformer based on the popular online virtual pet game.  Nothing too interesting here, but fans of the online game may want to play it for all the codes you get.

Power Rangers: Megaforce (3DS)

I can’t believe this is still on TV!  My little brothers loved Power Rangers when they were itty bitty.  My brother Jeff was the Green Ranger for Halloween one year, but his costumed swallowed him up and everyone thought he was an elf!  Another one of my younger brothers was going through potty training, and when we told him the Blue Power Ranger uses the potty, he never had an accident after that!  This game is what you’d expect it to be, just a substandard beat ‘em up.

Ben 10: Omniverse 2 (360)

Never really got into the cartoon show this is based off of.  It’s part continuously running platformer and part 3-D beat ‘em up.  It gets kind of hard after a while, too, which kills off their target market I would think.

Reader Review: Valdis Story (PC)

And last is this review by my good friend of a Steam PC indie game.  I think it’s some sort of 2-D action adventure RPG thing.  He really liked it, and said it was one of the best indie games he’s played all year, so I guess if you’re interested, you should check it out.

No Room For Dessert?

And that’s all of the reviews this time!  You should have nice, full, stuffed bellies now!  Thanks for reading and commenting!  In December I plan to do tribute blogs on the PS3 and 360, since the new consoles are out now.  Later!  --Cary
