Here is my new gaming setup. I meant to blog more at least on the new systems but as you can see the Playstation 4 and Xbox One are now a part of the family.
Now I have been enjoying both systems but which one do I prefer or do I have a preference? I do and the Playstation 4 by a bigger margin than I expected. Why? There are a few big reasons. First I now prefer the PS4's interface. I used to love the 360 interface but now I feel overwelmed with what is all on the screen. It feels cluttered to me. I was never a fan of the XBM but I like how its now like two of them and gives me more things to go to faster. I am put off that trophies don't sync in an instant. I also don't like how both systems seem to lack much in being able to put yourself out there. The introduction includes the same character count. That is absurd. As for the Xbox One's positive features? I do like snap. I wish it was easier to use and I am still much more impressed with Kinect and had to still say things over and over for it to respond.
Now the controllers? This one really threw me off. I was a huge fan of the 360 controller. If you look on Gamespot, IGN, and Kotaku, you will see that I always said the 360 had the best controller. It conformed with your hands and the thumb stick fit more natural above the d-pad. Well now I am flopping to the PS4 controller. Why? The triggers and analog sticks are more tight and like that the controller is longer. These two things make me really prefer it. The touchpad is really cool but I wouldn't call it the deal breaker. The XB1 controller feels a bit too small and wish the d-pad was a bit higher.
I would say those two things are what people should consider. The user interface and the controller. I think they both have great social aspects that shouldn't be a deal breaker but sadly I know people will often choose simply because of their commitment to trophies or achievements. I overall like the PS4's design better as well. Its more sleek and small. The Xbox One is massive in size. I say though that games in the end is what matters and we all know both will have some incredible must play experiences that each of the system's will only have.
I have played and have Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, Resogun, Battlefield 4, and Killzone: Shadow Fall on the PS4. They are all great games that like impressive. I have played and have Dead Rising 3 on the XB1 that has been a blast. People looking at the current games available will only form poor judgement on the big releases that will come out a year out. I am stoked though yearly next year for Titanfall and Infamous: Second Son! I have more comments to share about you all with the games that I play and will have some live broadcast in the future for those who want to chat and watch me play a bit :)
