Black Friday Haul

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I visited my family (about 30+ of us) in a Thanksgiving dinner. It was calm and I watched some football and took it easy. In the past, I have gone to Black Friday sales, not this year though. 100% of my Black Friday purchases were online, no fighting in stores for me. So picked up some great games:

The Last of Us (PS3)

The Amazon Black Friday Flash Sale had this for $25, about where I was willing to pay. One of the games I have wanted the most in a while, I will most likely crack it open and start playing it right away. I have been watching reviews up to right before I bought it and it has some damn good praise. Not to mention Naughty Dog has become one of my favorite developers. It should be here soon!

Splinter Cell: Blacklist (PS3)

Ever since this series debuted on the original Xbox, I have been a huge fan. Even when I seen the first screens of this game, I already knew I was buying it. Then when it was announced that Spies vs. Mercs was coming back, it just emphasized the point, one of my favorite multiplayer experiences ever. Amazon also had this on sale as well as others. The fact that they changed the voice actor for Sam Fisher is not really a big deal at all to me. Not as devastating as changing David Hayter as Snake in the Metal Gear series. Try to play this between other games.

DmC: Devil May Cry  (PS3)

Devil May Cry has always been one of my favorite series in gaming. The original on PS2 is still one of my faves to play through. When this game was debuted my initial impression was to steer clear. It didn't have the visual style I thought the series should have and Dante himself looked ridiculous to me (still does), lol. Watching some reviews and gameplay videos and also playing the demo, this game seems pretty good. Just decided to buy since it was cheap ($10). When I play, I may purchase the classic Dante skin, just because I prefer that style of character design.

Hitman HD Trilogy (PS3)

I'll admit that the reason I purchased this game was for filler to meet the $35 dollar minimum for Amazon free shipping. So I basically got this game for $10. I would rather buy something than give Amazon money for "shipping", which is usually $5. I had contemplated buying this in this past but it was so expensive previously. At $10, it was worth and I got free shipping, lol. I have wanted to play Hitman: Blood Money for a while, now I can.

30+ family gathering?  Calm?  Ha, it was only the four of us here, my older sister and younger brother live in San Francisco and Maryland, so we didn't see them.  We'll see them at Xmas though.

I've been eyeing Last of Us, but I'm still holding off.  I played the first Splinter Cell, and loved it, but I haven't played any of the others.  Apparently the new one is quite good though.

I had gone over to my friend's place and he was playing Splinter Cell: Blacklist. It was pretty awesome, got me excited for the series all over again. I definitely recommend.

I was going to buy The Last of Us on day one.... it just never happened. I can't bring myself to spend $65 each on games anymore, lol.

Yea, at $10 (new), couldn't pass it up.

I missed that TLOU at 25 bucks, 20 is my jump-in price but 25 is too good to pass up. I may get it if it's on sale this monday. Overall great purchases. The only Hitman game I have is Absolution that I won at a contest at 1up earlier this year, still need to finish it.

I faintly remember wathcing my brother playing the first Hitman on PS2. I remember it seemed really difficult, but we did think it was cool how you could approach the missions anyway you wanted.

The Last of Us was a slam dunk at $25. I originally intended on buying it at full price (because I love the Naughty Dog games).

I had a great time with Hitman 2 on the original Xbox. Can't go too wrong for $10....

Thought it was a good pickup even though it was a "filler", lol. I have heard Blood Money was good and I have considered buying it for PC. This works out though.
