I remember playing PuzzleCraft back when you had to buy it. It was a great time sink. I wasted so much time playing that game.
Turkey Day/Black Friday/Cyber Monday Recap

Well Hello Pixlbit, and Happy Cyber Monday! I rarely take part in Cyber Monday because I tend to overspend during the Black Friday Weekend. Anyways I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with food, family, food, friends, and food…and maybe some gaming sprinkled in during your breaks from food. So sit back, let your credit card cool off a bit before jumping back into Cyber Monday shopping!
What I’ve Been Playing
Forza Horizon – 360
Still chugging away, I just earned the purple bracelet, and just doing some random races, and still on the lookout for the discount ads you drive through. Having a ton of fun with this game
NCAA Football 14 – PS3
I don’t know if I mentioned it but in my Dynasty after winning a second crystal football, I finally got the Oregon job (I only wanted it because there are a bunch of uniforms). Currently in game 6, I have the Fightin’ Ducks in the Top 10.
Monopoly Bingo – Android
I just unlocked another property. Funny/Annoying thing is that during one of my bingo games (I’m playing two cards…almost at Granny status with multiple cards) I was about to hit Bingo, and the game crashes. Lost the tickets I spent on the game and two cards as well as what could have been a Bingo
Real Racing 3 – Android
I actually just loaded the game up to collect the free car, and then shut it down. I’ll get back to this game, most likely once I finish Forza Horizon’s Storyline
GT Racing 2 – Android
I gave this game a quick try (a race) and I don’t want to give any thoughts about the game just yet. Maybe next game blog.
Lego Marvel Superheroes – PS3
I unlocked the Circus level in NYC. Still making progress and unlocked some new characters and Deadpool Bricks.
Turkey Day: Cliffs Notes Version
That’s me Thanksgiving morning picking up last minute items at the local WinCo.
This is what I like to wait for during Turkey Day. We had to cut the original rib roast in half because it wouldn’t fit.
We watched AMERICA’S TEAM! I took my jersey off during lunch because I didn’t want to get it dirty. The Cowboys started winning, so I never put it back on for fear of jinxing the team *Like the commercial says “It’s only weird if it doesn’t work”
My cousin’s little one got a hold of my Lego Minifigures and she proceed to make odd things happen. She found all the girl figures and made them mommy’s.
My cousin and I hit the Target an hour after opening so all the crazy’s did their thing (we were there for games anyways)
The Black Friday Tradition around the house, which is eat leftovers. There is prime rib, ham, turkey, pancit, potatoes au gratin, and stuffing. There was one heck of a nap after that plate.
Stuff Found On Black Friday
That’s me again!
Since the Cowboys played on Thursday, I really didn’t want any football on Sunday but I did wear my Darnell Dockett Cardinals jersey. I picked the Arizona Cardinals as my bandwagon team. Since everyone bandwagons teams that are winning, I went with the Cardinals because they were terrible last season, and I like to say I am a Lifelong Cardinals fan since last year.
Anyways it was warm outside when I went out and ran some errands…in shorts, in DECEMBER! Oh Southern California, you’re two weeks of cold is always fun.
From Target’s Thursday Night Opening
I finally got a copy of Tomb Raider. I was going to get it for the 360, but I let my cousin take the last green box. I also stopped watching Mad Men when it’s on TV (no idea why) so I’ve been catching up with DVDs. Can’t go wrong when they are $8 each.
On Black Friday Afternoon, I went to GameStop with my brother to check out what they had for games, and to see if I wanted a Wii. I didn’t get a Wii because I wasn’t too excited about the games there, but I did find some 360 games to add to Mount Backlog
I think Fable II and III were no more than $5 each, and I think I got the Baja game for free.
My brother and I continued shopping at other stores where he picked out what he wanted for Christmas.
While we were out, we hit a Best Buy and there was a ton of stuff still there. I thought about a couple of Vita games, but ended up leaving with these games and a couple of candy bars from a girl selling them for her basketball team
I think I’m ready to give Gran Turismo another try, and I now have a physical copy of Mortal Kombat for the 360. I know I have the digital versions for the Vita, and PS3, along with a physical copy for the Vita, but I’m unsure if I do for the PS3 (wow that was a confusing sentence)
The final game pickups were actually from the Google Play Store. They were having a big sale on music, movies, books, games, and apps, and I took part from my couch.
I can’t remember if I tried Madden already, but I downloaded it because it was free. Puzzle Craft I believe was also made free. It sounds interesting so I will give it a try, and let you know my thoughts on it in a later blog. Riptide and Monopoly were a $1 each, and I wanted to try Riptide for awhile. As for Monopoly, since Monopoly Bingo, I’ve been in the Monopoly mood, so why not get the actual board game?
For music purchases, there really wasn’t much for me to get excited about during Black Friday but Google Play had a bunch of music on sale including some good stuff for $1.99. Normally if I can get a physical copy I will, but $1.99 was too good to pass up.
The albums are
Avicii – True
Big Sean – Hall of Fame
Black Sabbath – 13
Darius Rucker (HOOTIE!) – True Believer
Fall Out Boy – Save Rock And Roll
French Montana – Excuse My French
Pusha T – My Name Is My Name
Selena Gomez – Stars Dance
TGT – Three Kings
The-Dream – IV Play
Volbeat – Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies
2 Chainz – B.O.A.T.S. II #METIME
I think Big Sean was $2.99 and everything else was $1.99. I was going to get 2 Chainz at Target but passed.
So there you have it, that’s a quick recap of my Thanksgiving. Anyone get any cool stuff, did anything cool?
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
