Graduation!!!

The title of the blog says it all.

Last friday, I graduated from my school. Now, that would mean that i'm going to enter college next year and you'd be right, but actually i'm going to enter on 2015 as I will be on a exchange programm next year to Belgium. I can't wait to do all of that.

I would make this blog an opportunity to write something about the coming-of-age or the next step in an adults life, but I don't feel any of that. Instead, I can talk about the gifts I received for my graduation.

First from my mom and dad, I got a brand new Toshiba Satellite laptop, which i'm enjoying so far and apparently, is great at PC gaming, so I'm hoping to put my Steam account here and try for myself. I guess the only problems so far are that the mouse isn't very good and the sound with the earphones isn't that good either. Then again, maybe it's just the earphones and not the computer. Oh, and yes, i'm typing this blog on the laptop.

From my dad alone, he asked me for anything so he could buy it on Amazon. I took a chance and asked him for Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Doolitle by Pixies. I got the urge to try the first one thanks to Ben's blog about it, as it not only has a remake of Rondo of Blood, but also the original version of RoB and Symphony of the Night, two games I always wanted to try. Phoenix Wright was also a series I wanted to try, so I also took a chance and bought the first game of the saga. I love Pixies (or atleast the songs i've heard of them), so I couldn't pass up on buying my first album of the band.

To finish this, I got more spoiled when my mom also bought me the latest Iphone (the 5C) with her own money. Though i'm not a big fan of Cellphones, I actually need a more modern phone so I can have it on Belgium and be more updated with my mails and all of that.

Well, that's all I have to say.

Congrats man! I can honestly say college has been the best time of my life. I FUCKING LOVE IT! I hope you do too! Good luck in Belgium too. Eat the fuck out of the chocolate! I also look forward to gaming with you on your pc! Ig you have a headset, that'd be awesome!

Thanks Blake!

I'm very excited for college and i'll be sure to eat all the chocolate in Belgium (together with the waffles and french fries too). Though sadly I don't have a headset.

Congrats Alex!! You can probably get a USB mouse and some speakers / new headphones for your laptop. That's what I did anyway. My mouse is so damn sensitive that it's impossible to use.

Thanks Aaron!

I am planning to get a mouse. As for the headphones, i'm going to try with other. For some reason, the ones I use the most are fine with the main monitor, but on the laptop they don't sound so good. Maybe it's the earphone input.

Rondo Of Blood will challenge you in that good old fashioned "classic castlevania" kind of way! Happy graduation,Alejandro!

Thanks Ben!

I haven't unlocked the original Rondo of Blood, but i'm liking the remake, even if it's hard as hell.

Congratulations! And going to Belgium too. Very cool. I also got a laptop when I graduated from high school. It was the first gen MacBook, which will tell you about how long ago it was lol. Anyway, enjoy your new stuff and I hope you like Phoenix Wright. It's one of my favorite franchises from the DS.

Thanks man!

I'm quite enjoying Phoenix Wright, though I cheated a bit on the first part of the second case by looking at Gamefaqs. Hopefully, I'll get more concentrated and do everything myself.

It's really tempting to look up what to do sometimes (I've done it; sometimes it's not quite logical what they want you to do) but it's really satisfying when you have that "ah HA!" moment when you figure it out, so definitely try to use a walkthrough as little as possible.

And Doolittle is a great album!  I discovered it when I was about your age too.

Thanks Snee!

I'm hoping to listen Doolitle soon, though I have some albums I haven't started, so that one must wait.

Congrats, man.

I'm getting old, so I don't remember much about high school.  I don't remember much about college either.  College is a great place to meet a lot of different people.  Keep your eyes open though.  You'll run into more bullshit in college than you did in high school and you'll learn that professors and doctors don't know everything.  Some of them talk a good game and are complete idiots.  I'll leave you with that for now. Laughing

Thanks James!

Well, I had run into some bullshit when I was at school, but i'll take your word for it.

College is great, there's far less BS you have to go through as you'll hang out with a lot more likeminded people.

Here's to the future.

Belgium has some awesome chocolate and beer.  Sadly I never got any chocolate.  I was foolish enough to give it away to chocoholics before sneaking a piece.

Don't forget the french fries and waffles either.

would they really be french fries if they are from Belgium?

That would be awesome though, in some ways I wish that I had done some sort of foreign exchange stuff in school.  When I was last in Europe we spent one day in Belgium in Bruges and I want to go back so badly.  It was that awesome.

Dude, I love Third Eye Blind!  Good job on finishing school!

Thanks!

I haven't heard much of them, but I do like what i've listened. I felt the song fitted the Graduation theme, even if it isn't accuarate with my graduation lol.

Congrants on your graduation. I'll leave you with what I heard when I graduated.

I wish I could've gotten those kind of cool items for grad gifts. They'll fit perfectly for you when you head to the EU. Will there be sharing of your experiances there or will you go AFK due to the college ambitions.

Nahhh! forgot what i ask. go and enjoy your freedom!

Ah yeah, I really like that video of Everybody's Free to Wear Sunscreen. Though the version I saw had different footage and music, the message still stands.

Thanks for the support Sonic! I'll try to as active as possible here and try not to go AFK lol.

Congratulations on the graduation and the presents haul!

If high schools used Third Eye Blind as their graduation music instead of "Pomp and Circumstance" or that Vitamin C song, the world would be a better place. Hobos would magically turn into professors.

Alex-C25

Thanks Joe!

Never heard of those songs but if what you say it's truth, I would really like a hobo teacher to enlight me on the ways of cooking rats on fiery trash cans.

Might be an American thing, but the second one is traditionally played at graduation ceremonies. The first one is a song from the 90s about graduating that people love or hate, but it's really popular around graduation time.
