Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD reveals the story of some of Gabriel Belmont’s descendants, including Simon and Trevor Belmont, as they battle their own destiny only to discover their true, shocking fate. Trevor Belmont, a knight of the Brotherhood of Light, sets out to avenge the death of his mother by his father, who has returned from years of exile to take up residence in a mysterious castle. What was once Gabriel Belmont is now Dracula, a powerful vampire. Dracula has declared war upon the Brotherhood and thus the scene is set for a cataclysmic showdown between father and son.
The graphics are simply beautiful
In Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD, players take on the role of several characters , each of whom has unique abilities and skills across different eras. Featuring a huge array of combos and a deep strategic combat system, players can use their characters’ weapons and magical abilities to take down their evil foes. Fans will traverse immensely detailed levels and encounter enormous boss fights, all within a stunning setting that features beautifully-realised locations, and side scrolling areas that segue seamlessly into full 3D battles.
The cinematic scenes are done excellent as far as story telling is concerned
Mirrors of Fate is not quite what I expected, I was figuring it was more like Lord of Shadows but its actually more like the traditional Castlevania,s which is side scrolling action which is awesome in my eyes first off im a huge Castlevania buff and have been playing since the first one on the nes and with this one its a 3d side scroller with beautiful graphics and as far as the 3ds version goes I have not played it and cant compare it but the Xbox Arcade version is done very good.
All the hidden levels are still here
The controls are very fluid and easy to master the controls are very excessable and the graphics are just gorgeous and this game is huge and has all the hidden areas etc that your use to in a Castlevania gameand if you get the Castlevania Lord of Shadows Collection you will get it free and if this is the direction there going with the series im in for the long haul and dont get me wrong here as I am a big fan of the Lord of Shadow series i do beleive I like Mirror of Fate better as it seems more like a Castlevania game then LoS, I mean LoS is an awesome game and all but very linear in comparison and my favorite parts of castlevania is the hidden paths etc.
Boss battles are epic and tough
The graphics like i already specified are gorgeous and done subperb the dark feel of Dracula is definitely here as well as the feel of the older versions like an upgraded Symphony of the Night.
The Sound is awesome as well the voice acting is finally done great unlike SotN which was very dull and not that great they did it well here and the music is appropriate for each area of the game from the dark caverns to the castle halls.
The gameplay is where this game shines the best the bosses are epic and very cool and like most Castlevania games a pattern is key to defeating them the variety of creatures are also here along with the creepy feel and mood.
Gameplay is excellent in Mirror of Fate
Castlevania: Mirror of Fate is an excellent rendition of the series which falls back to the more traditional Castlevania games and in my opinion better the LoS but this is one I would totally recommend and should be in any fan of castlevanias collection.
My score is a 4.5 out 5 Excellent
