I had plans for doing a review this month but with the holiday business murdering my coworkers and myself I've been able to find the energy to write one. I may get around to reviewing the mod in qustion for Ultimate Doom for a post-Christmas update but I need to play the game, as long as I feel brave this week to actually play more of it. So aside from the holiday drain and attempts to getting a shiny Furfrou on Pokemon X I've been playing another game I just got from the Steam sale, Shadowrun Returns. The game is fantastic and there's a community writing modules for the game, including a fan sequel to Deadman's Switch (the official module that came with the game) and an alpha build of a SNES Shadowrun reboot. And this is where inspiration comes in for me.

Long story short I had no direction in what kind of career I wanted in life until I moved to Kansas, where Channel G4 gave me inspiration to get into the game industry. Never got into the industry (though I did get a degree in computer applications so thumbs up there) but I still wanted to make a game. I always felt imitated by the D.I.Y. applications and my current skill set and mind only permits me to be at least a producer.

I may actually brave into the Shadowrun builder, as long as I have a script first. I love the game and with my dad introducing me to Dungeon & Dragons DOS games in a early age I always wanted to make a dungeon game. There's already a story in mind and I may enlist someone to help with portraits or character models if I decide to go as far as making the module as I originally intent it to be. Maybe I'll make that my New Year's Resolution: work on a game through a builder. I may not get into the business but I'll be damn if I don't go with something I always wanted to do.

Until next time.
