My Final Blog...OF 2013!!!

Whats up my Pixl Peeps! Its been a while since I have had a chance to blog but I wanted to get one last piece in for 2013. So with out delay, here we go.

So the games that pretty much devoured this year for me were Borderlands 2 and the Mass Effect trilogy. The hooks were deep on these two and I just recently started my second tour of the Mass Effects. But this also caused a little bit of burn out too, so I plan to diversify a my play list next year.

Which leads me to my next train of thought, what up coming games for 2014 have got me excited? By far Destiny is my must have game for 2014. So what make this game so cool? Well first off its going to be on PS3 and 360 so you don't need a next gen system. Second even though it is going to be an online game there will NOT be a subscrition to play. And it will offer a 50/50 mix of solo and party missions. Lastly if your like me and love games that give you lot of gear, weapons, and character build options to play with then this your game.

So the most disappointing game I have played this year was Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because I Don't Know. I am big fan of the show and remember the 3DS game getting pretty solid reviews. Apparently this game was developed by a different studio. So I like what they were trying to do, make a feaux 16bit dungon crawler action rpg. Although the HD sprites and poly scenery kind of kill the illusion. The music is actually realy good though, shame there are only like 4 tracks in the whole game. The game play is not bad but like the repetative dungon layouts and music it gets dull quick. Lucky for me this was just a rental.

So among my usual year end resolutions of getting more exercise and drinking less beer I will be spending more time working on music, art, and writing projects. I may also be going back to school in the spring. Its been almost 3 years since I ran out of money and quit college, it's long past time to finish what I started.

Really? Thanks for the correction. I suppose there is more cost in devloping a game for the PS3 than the DS. Still, I had high hopes for it.

Happy New Year! Hope the diminished beer drinking and getting back in shape go well. I intend to start on the getting back in shape thing today. We'll see how that goes.

I was going to download Mass Effect 2 on Steam until I found out it was not controller-supported. I played the demo to see if I could deal with that, but nope. Not a fan of the keyboard/mouse set-up, even in shooters. Plus, to be honest, while people have praised its story endlessly, I just wasn't that into what I felt were typical sci-fi tropes in the demo. Not knocking it or people who like it, or at least not trying to (it definitely had its merits like graphical fidelity, cool customization/conversation options, and decently fun shooting segments that appealed to me), just saying that what I experienced was not necessarily my cup of tea bags, so I saved the money for things higher on my Wishlist.

Borderlands 2 is another one that everyone loves, with an art/graphic style I admire and can see myself liking a lot of elements from, that I don't quite think would be my thing overall. One day, we may find out if I feel I missed out tremendously, but today is not that day. My wallett already hurts. Well, ok, my gift card, but still.

Destiny sounds like a good time. I know there was a lot of buzz around it during E3. I kinda forgot what it was about, though. I know it looked really good, I think. I know you explained it, but I am a bit buzzed myself, having come from a party and drunken some Irish liquor once safely back home. So I'd look it up, but my head can't handle 3D objects moving as well as usual at the moment. Ahe,.

I told Cary this too, but I watched the first season of Adventure Time on Netflix, and find it hit or miss for my tastes. It's funny in an oddball way sometimes, but then sometimes its randomness doesn't appeal to me as much. The biggest laugh from the entire season for me was that witch getting mad and turning a donut into a bagel for being an "imposter." Or was it the other way around? Anyway, "dungeon crawler" isn't really my type of game either, so I dunno.

Well, Happy New Year again! Sorry if I came across negative, I just tend to like action/platformers more than anything, cause when it comes to movies and books, I'm like a scholar or critic, but with games I have the taste of an Adderol-ridden 17-year-old for some strange reason.

Happy New year Joe! Same here, I can't play games with a mouse and key board. I tried to play Fable on PC and my mouse hand kept falling asleep. Mass 2 to is my favorite of the trilogy. Borderlands 2 also seems to be a love it ot hate game for some folks. I love that game, I don't even want to know how much time I sunk into that one over the last year,lol.

Not the least suprised by that,lol. Playing a Vanguard this time around, total opposite of the Infiltrator. And I still want to play through as a hardcore renegade femshep.

Happy new Year Abobo! Funny thing is one of the reasons I ran out of money is becaue I kept changing my major,lol. I want to go back and study graphic design. I hope to get into animation eventually. I had to work today so I kept it at a buzz. I hate hangovers,lol.
