My wife and I have spent the last two days watched a Marathon of this progam on Oasis HD, in fact we have watched nothing else except for 10 minutes of the New Years eve countdowns.

The show is about a wildlife rehab centre in Seaforth Nova Scotia run by a woman named Hope and her band of tireless volunteers.

If you love nature check it out Here. http://www.hopeforwildlife.net/

Donate if you can and help give animals in distress a safe and happy new year.

I might make a donation, thanks for spreading the word around.

Happy New Year to you and yours, this wonderful woman named Hope, and by contractual obligation, Sara McLachlan's "Angel!"

i think about the plight of animals quite a lot, but I still can't give up meat. I think someday in the future, animals will be granted more rights than they are now.  I feel like it's mankind's place to care for them, not abuse them.

But then again, sausage rules!

I don't think we need to become vegetarians to have respect for animals. If lions and tigers and crocagators thought we gave up meat for them they'd laugh their asses off.

and yes, sausage rules and the pig is a wonderful magical animal. Thank Pig for Bacon!

yeah, I agree.  I think we can still eat animals, but i wish we treated the ones we do eat a little better.

Great post. I think something that is always left out whenever there is talk of global warming is the plight of wild life. The talk always centers around us poor humans and our coastal cities going Atlantis, yet nothing is ever mentioned how this is affecting the wild life. Polar bears got a little notice for a while, but other than that its like we are the only ones facing a bleak future. There was a devastating drought in central Texas last year, people were finding baby animals from deer, racoons, opossums, kyotes, and squirls abondoned because the parents either died or could only fend for themselves. We created this problem yet they suffer for it. Sorry for the rant but this is a subject I am very passionate about and it gets me worked up.

I don't mind the ranting since I feel the same way. :)

I liked it on Facebook so I get news from them. I went to Nova Scotia once on a camp bike trip when I was 17. I wouldn't mind living there.

It's one side of Canada I have only seen in pictures. I've never been further East than Montreal. My wife always talks about how she'd love to live out there.

If I had the money, I'd donate in a heartbeat. I'm not much of an outdoors person, but I've always had a facination with wildlife and feel terrible about the situations that keep popping up.

That's ok, I know what being broke feels like. I'm in the same boat.

I like the outdoors but not this time of year in South Western Ontario. It's currently -14 Celcius which is around 7 in fahrenheit. No outdoors for me except from the car to someplace warm.

Is it a reality TV show or a nature show?

I guess you could say it's a reality tv about nature. It focuses on the animals that Hope is trying to rehabilitate.
