Short answer:

It's fucking awesome!

Long answer:

If you remember my last blog, I was wondering about installing Steam on my new laptop and if I had to create a new account, but thanks to the anwers of Joe Step and whatsacow, I didn't need to do that and I could install Steam with my current acount just fine. After installing Steam on my laptop, I immediately tried the PC's power by re-installing Limbo first. Now, my father told me that before giving me the computer, he put a better graphic and guess also sound card for games to run better and it shows! Limbo ran more smoothly than in my main monitor and the same deal with Braid. The same goes for 3D games I had re-installed like Amnesia and Portal, which also comes with the bonus of finally having the cursor appearing (for those who don't know, 3D games in my main monitor unexpicably didn't have the cursor appearing, which was a source of pain to me).

Though not everything is flowers and puppies. Super Meat Boy for some reason freezes just as the control advice appears (I had to restart my computer to get back) and it seems like Sonic CD needs something to run (no character reference intended), because I can't start the game and nothing appears on the video setup. I also need a mouse so I can play better the games that require it.

But even with that, i'm very happy with Steam and I can't wait to have all my games installed.

I also want to give you guys a Happy New Year and let's cross our fingers for good things to come.

Damn straight! Steam is awesome! Perhaps a little too awesome sometimes lol. I got so many good games for dirt cheap during the holiday sale. Have you checked the forums for Super Meat Boy? There might be a fix for that or something. Happy New Year Alex!!

Yeah, Steam is quite awesome. I just recently bought 6 games on the sale.

I haven't checked the forums, but I could do that. I really want to know what is happening with Super Meat Boy.

Happy New Year! As Aaron suggested, the forums are a good resource for fixes.

I know I was having problems getting Arkham Asylum to run, so I uninstalled and reinstalled it. Then I noticed I had the demo for it still on my computer, and once I uninstalled that, it worked. So you might try re-installing some of your non-working games, or deleting any demos you may have on your PC for games you also have the full version of on your PC.

I have Sonic CD on my phone through Google Play, and I believe it's available for iPhone/iTunes Store. So that's another option if it won't work on your PC, I guess.

Yeah, i'll also look into the forums.

I don't have any demo and so far, every other game I have installed has worked perfectly, so I may try to install Super Meat Boy and Sonic CD again.

Steam rules.  I love all the little indie games.

Happy new year, man!

Sounds like the same issue I had when I upgraded my video card to my PC so that portal actually ran better. Still couldn't get use to it due to no controller controls. Still can't get use to keyboard/mouse set up. Used the video card instead to use my beast PC to run video off game Rig 1 version 2.0's TV screen.

Still hearing the trouble your having with Meat Boy and Sonic CD makes me glad I'm still a console gamer.

It's hard at first, but i'm getting used to the mouse and keyboard setup and honestly, compared to other games, Portal has very simple mouse/keyboard controls, so I got used to it quickly.

Yeah, I don't know what is wrong with Super Meat Boy and Sonic CD, which is weird since the other games I had installed have worked perfectly. Still, this won't detract me for becoming a PC gamer and I hope to solve that problem soon.
