 Out of that list I'd say Dishonored because it's awesome but short. Seriously, the world building in that game is phenomenal.

All those are in my backlog, I can not help,lol.

Resonance of fate is really cool, but I got stuck and gave up.  A really neat game though. 

I prefer not to think about my backlog.  I hope they have Steam in the afterlife. 

I thought I could help you.  I'm having the same kind of problem.  Over half the games on your list is also in my backlog. 

DS2 is cool, but least interesting game on the list.

New Vegas is a massive game, but it gives you a lot of choice when it comes to solving quests. One of my top 2 picks on our list

Human Revolution is the other top pick. Also provides you with multiple ways to finish quests, and it's fun to explore the city areas. Prefer NV, but this one is shorter and more focused.

Dishonored is good if you want a stealth-action hybrid in an original world. A quicker play than Human Revolution, if you want to knockout a similar type of game.

RoF is a pretty deep tactical game, but would not be my first pick on that list.

Dishonored FTW! Dues Ex was a bit of a disappointment for me, not that it didn't have good things going on, it just seemed a bit stale for my tastes

Dishonored was one of my favourite games form 2012.  I played through it twice in a row.  First run was a stealth run that took 10 or so hours, then I just ran through the campaign in 5 hrs in a non-stealth run.  I think that after playing stealthy it was so much fun to not give a crap and shoot everybody in the face.

Just discovered Howlongtobeat.com so here's a breakdown of play times just to do the main story, no DLC, to help you make a decision.

Resonance of Fate: 45 hours

Dishonored: 12 hours

Deus Ex: Human Revolution: 20 hours

Fallout New Vegas: 31 hours

Dead Space 2: 9 hours

    So I'd say start with Dead Space 2, then Dishonored.

I was looking up lots of old school RPGs and they have a lot. Good Old Games has a lot too I noticed. Sometimes they both a have a title and sometimes one has it. Who carries the old Advanced Dungeons and Dragons games? Neither carry those.

The good thing about gog is that they update the older games to be compatible with win7. I'm not sure that Steam always does this. I bough Star Wars Dark Forces, and I have no luck playing it in win 7. I like both services.

I worry about compatibility which is why I'm avoiding games with a lot of action or 3D worlds and such. Small games, turn-based RPGs, and strategy games.

My favorites on that list would be Fallout: New Vegas and Resonance of Fate. I say, go with what your heart tells you. Video games shouldn't feel like work. I think we get into that trap sometimes when we buy a lot of games and then feel guilty because we don't play them all the way through or it's months before we even remove the shrinkwrap on them.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is my favorite on that list. I love the cyberpunk setting. Dishonored is a close second but those are very similar games in regard to how they play and the choices given to the player. I would go with whichever of those seems to have the more interesting world to you. Just don't play them back to back.

Dishonored is one of my all time favorite games. Blake is right that the world is fantastic. I spent much longer than 10-12 hours because I was reading every piece of paper and finding every doo-dad there was. I couldn't stop!

I'd go with Dishonored. I watched a developer interview on how they created the world for the game and I found it to be rather breath taking. Then again, I tend to romantcize anything that's remotely steam-punk/science fiction so I'm bias from the onset. lol.

No, my list is much longer, but this is my immediate list. I didn't throw in 3DS, Vita or Steam games.
